Experience: 2004 Project Manager CANTV (Verizon Branch in Venezuela). Project Manager activities for the DataCenter area. Project management experiences that involved negotiating contract variations and substantial management of sub-contractor relationships. Work with the clients to align their IT strategies with business objectives. Developed and maintained performance reporting (to senior management) which was linked to generate the necessary reports, thereby enabling a proactive approach to dealing with the customer. 1998– 2003 Project Manager. Intesa*-PDVSA** Exploration and Production. Caracas, Venezuela. Develop the project cycle of life as is established by the PMI methodology: Execution of actions related with proposal generations, plans, and following to procure and implantation of equipment. Negotiated the equipment type and timing for customer's projects, resolving any contractual issues that arose. Budget management and administrative activities related with project executions. Coordination with other organizations related with the projects. Preparation of billing reports for clients review and approval (using SAP financials). I have been required to participate in, and manage, teams of up to fifteen members. My management style is participative with a focus on developing and empowering others to achieve business objectives.
Some of the projects were: • Implantation of the PDVSA Exploration and Production data backup system (14 T bytes) in 15 different locations along the country, with a budget of 5+ million. • Conceptualization, Proposal, Negotiation, Execution of the Implantation of 12 oil fields visualization & monitoring rooms in locations along the country, including for each room: Unix & NT servers, storage and backup solutions, workstations, large display screens, visualization and simulation software. • Upgrade of the specialized infrastructure of the Exploration and Production integral environment, including large storage & backup systems, servers and workstations, basically in Unix platforms, PC’s, and software, in several locations with more than 350 users. For support this activities I have large experience working with MsOffice suite of products, including Excel, Word, Power Point and Microsoft Project. I also handled the client and other department relations to ensure the success of those projects. Management of organizational changes related to Project implementation.
