Senior Program Manager, Acrobat Engineering
Led the software development of Acrobat Product Line involving global cross-functional teams from initiation through delivery.
• Managed the first commercial release of Acrobat Pro Extended product, which was newly brought in from Adobe’s research arm into the Acrobat product line. Thereafter, produced several follow on releases, all delivered on time, spanning 11 languages, while leading multiple global engineering teams (50+ people) in US, Europe and Asia.
• Managed the Adobe Labs beta programs for various releases of this product with over 10,000 active participants, ensuring that all feedback received was appropriately routed to the relevant teams.
• Successfully integrated the Acrobat 3D product into Adobe’s Creative Suite working within a tight delivery schedule. Identified and resolved technology and schedule challenges, and exercised strong relationship building skills to drive alignment across Engineering, QA, Marketing and Legal functions, across the business units.
• Drove the success of an international acquisition – Trade and Technologies France, by ensuring integration of their team and processes into Adobe within a short 3-month period. Trained the acquired team on Adobe Acrobat project management processes.
• Successfully evangelized the Scrum method of software development to a globally distributed team, which was using the traditional “Waterfall” model and were reluctant to change. This led to the delivery of a high quality product to enterprise Beta customers. Managed the subsequent initial launch of this server based product – PDFG 3D, integrated into the mainstream Livecycle Enterprise product line.
• Formulated new KPIs to provide timely external vulnerability snapshots (for Reader, Acrobat) to management, leading to identification and elimination of process bottlenecks.
• Protected Adobe from Intellectual Property liabilities, by providing critical support to legal team in identifying third party licenses and conducting intellectual property audits.
• Managed the successful delivery of co-branded Yahoo! Toolbar, by facilitating cross-company coordination across the Yahoo! and Adobe engineering and product marketing teams, leading to a material positive revenue impact for Adobe’s platform segment.
