Duties spanned a wide range of responsibilities, which included safety, personnel management, production, developing policy, process development and implementation, customer & vendor relations, technical projects, and public relations. Production
Weyerhaeuser, Cottage Grove: Supervision of the sawmill crew. Duties include assuring the safe operation in the sawmill, assigning jobs, scheduling work, conducting meetings, recording production data, recording and approving payable time, filling training needs, doing inspections, documenting job performance, coaching and discipline, hiring, terminations.
Weyerhaeuser, Olympia: Supervision of day shift packing room. Line workers sort, count, package, and palletize, store, and ship bare root seedlings according to production rate guidelines. Supervision of harvesting activities. Supervision of summer activities including transplanting, crop cultural and growing activities, inventory, and site maintenance and repair. Cultural activities include; irrigation, spraying (fertilizers & pesticides), fumigation, wrenching, undercutting, lateral pruning, and weeding.
Processes Identified and addressed process issues in the sawmill with regard to both personnel and mechanical problems.
Involvement in process improvement projects in the shipping/receiving, quality control, harvesting, packaging, and transplanting phases of the operation. Challenges involved subjects relating to process efficiencies, quality, product damage, maintenance work orders, sharing information and coordinating multiple activities.
Personnel Management Supervision of up to 100 labor workers. Requires developed communication skills (oral and written), listening, assertiveness, organizational, and problem solving abilities. Includes responsibility for interviewing, hiring, discipline, and terminations. We have achieved an environment where employees accept responsibility for production, safety, and quality expectations.
Public Relations Hosted several informational tours for customers and the public, including visitors from industry, the media, public agencies, and schools.
Contract Administration Administered and supervised various projects, working with contract labor and their parent organizations, electricians, and various other construction contractors.
Technical Install studies, apply treatments, monitor, collect, and interpret data in order to determine if experimental treatments or processes are effective. Use of Excel and Access software.

•working with corporate health officers to identify actions we should take as a result of seeing the declining health and ability of employees •as a member of the Safety Committee, addressing employee concerns brought forward by employee representatives, and using the committee as a vehicle for implementing processes
