Review patient health history, care slips. alert doctor if needed. Take patient from reception area to operatory, making sure to greet every patient with a cheerful smile in the reception area using their name and inducing myself. Taking necessary X-rays on patients in a comfortable and relaxed manner. Maintain a professional environment in the clinical area. Keeping patient informed if the doctor is behind. Use supplies conservatively. Ordering Supplies. Maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, replenishing as needed. Provide doctor with the necessary supplies and instruments to perform the procedures for each patient visit. Clean each operatory to American Dental Association guidelines soon after the patient has exited the room. Sterilize all instruments and hand pieces. Escorting patient to the front desk and introduce to front desk person upon exit. Responsible for checking all cases in for my doctor and making sure cases are here before patients appointments. Recording patient charting and all doctor notes on treatment record. Insure that doctor signs treatment record, consents, and health histories. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Turn off all equipment and lights and sterilize all remaining instruments at end of each day. Ensure that heath history is updated for all returning patients. Placement and removal of separators. Check for loose bands and prepare for recommendation. Placement and ligation of adjusted arch wires. Oral hygiene instruction to the patient and documentation in the chart upon completion. Logging all case going out to the lab and marking them when back from lab. Logging all study models with the box number. Initialing charts notes. Clean up and set up for the following day.
