Experience:
Oct. 2008 – Present: South Regional/ Broward College Library, Pembroke Pines, FL
Youth Services Librarian 1: Assist students with reading materials, computers, and homework research. Create promotional materials (posters, flyers, and signs) for numerous department programs. Implement unique interactive art projects and continuous monthly film programs.

Feb. 2008 – Oct. 2008: South Regional/ Broward College Library, Pembroke Pines, FL
Reference AV/Popular Librarian 1: Perform academic reference for Broward College students and general public. Process new incoming materials (DVD’s, music CD’s, and Books on CD) and review their catalog records. Responsible for collection development of specific sections of film, music, and nonfiction materials. Create successful monthly film program and design all promotional materials (posters, flyers, and signs) for department events. Work an average of 22 hours per week on reference desk.

Aug. 2007 – Dec. 2007: Broward College, Pembroke Pines, FL
University of South Florida Graduate Internship: (120 hours) Fall Semester: Received training by Chris Casper, Faculty Librarian/Instruction Coordinator, Broward College. Assist in database reference training and bibliographic instruction for undergraduate students. Provide assistance at academic reference desk. Gained knowledge of several academic databases.

Editor, Seminole Tribune: Write, photograph, and edit stories for award-winning Native American newspaper. Delegate stories to staff writers and assist with layout design. Collaborate with Seminole Reservation community and intertribal departments to develop stories for paper.

First to establish freelance writers at each of the six Seminole reservations. Instrumental in changing newspaper format from black and white to full color and expand size from 12 pages to 24-32 pages. Increased readership and promoted newspaper at Tribal events.

Oct. 2000 – April 2003: Seminole tribe of Florida, Hollywood, FL
Branch Librarian: Dorothy Scott Osceola Memorial Library, Hollywood Reservation: Supervised library, computer center, and volunteer staff. Assist adults and children with library materials, including computer programs and educational software. Purchase reading materials, including books, magazines, educational CD-ROMS, and games. Present regular story time to children and prepare many craft activities.

Write articles promoting events at the library for the Seminole Tribune and Seminole cable channel. First to implement Scholastic Book Fair, art classes, community art exhibits, extend library hours twice a week, and movie night. Create a senior reading area and convenient book drop-off service. Volunteer for many tribal functions including the annual Seminole Tribal Fair, youth conferences, and health department events.
