Experience:
Hibler Design Studio- Berrien Springs, MI. Dec 07-May 08:Demonstrated project managment skills; worked in AutoCAD to create construction documents; built detailed massing models from wood that included topography and different architectural elements; site surveyed; and worked on design development.
Michigan City Charrette- Michigan City, IN. Sept.07-Jan.08: Worked with a team hired by Michigan City Mayor Chuck Oberlie and the community to redevelope the North end section of Michigan City. During the nine day Charrette and three month long design development the team created an award winning smart based code that had influences of the transect based code, as well developed an award winning Architectural Patteren Book for precedent of the different styles and types that should be implemented into Michigan City when the codes take affect. This design project earned a LEED-ND Platinum certification.
Watertight Roofing- Lawton, MI. May 06-Sept.07: Worked in the summer months building and repairing different residential elements of roof systems, including soffit panels, facia boards, roof decking, internal and external gutter systems, ridge cap ventilation and siding.
Building Trades- Delton, MI. Dec.98- June99. Hired by Delton Kellogg Schools as a student to build a residence from the foundation up for a local family who had recently lost their home to a fire. During this project, I demonstrated my in depth knowledge of reading architectural plans and building a sustainable structure. I was expected to perform the basics of framing, electrical wiring, duct work, concrete slab constuction, general carpentry, lighting and roofing. Since this project, I have succesfully built three homes and two pole barns from the foundation up.
