2001 – 2002 Kmart Corporation Troy-MI Phase 1 Project. Called and organized Hardware conversion of over 700 Stores Contacted store managers, took inventory counts, arranged for shipment of new computers and registers, scheduled appointments with IBM techs While store was closed walked IBM Techs thru switching Old registers and computers out with new. Trained other employees to do the same, arranged a night team for store closed conversions, and a day team to follow up and make sure all systems were up and running. Developed methods and forms to track and fix problems, in six months converted over 500 stores. Troubleshot and configured IBM Netfinity servers performed remote loadings and updates as well as remote back-ups, also pin pointed network connectivity problems and dispatched wiring teams to fix connectivity problems. Troubleshot and remotely tracked problems with store registers, walked employees thru resetting or reloading registers from the network. Liaison between major venders (IBM, Unisys, Lexmark, HP) for parts and warranty work.
Phase 2 Project Inventory management- assessed and inventoried six warehouses full of returned equipment.
Assistant project manager- arranged a team of people to enter warehouses, gather inventory of all items, tag, count, and dispose of unneeded items. Personally developed an inventory management database, in Microsoft Access, that enabled all managers, from all stores, including headquarters, to check inventory of all items that enter or are removed from every warehouse. Also, designed the database, entered in all initial information, arranged a meeting with top managers for a PowerPoint presentation, worked with internal web developers to create the Inventory management database. System presently available to all managers via Company website. Saved company two million dollars in salvaged equipment. Also implemented procedures for entering information into the database from all warehouses with bar coded system. Warehouse assigned incoming equipment a bar coded label which obtained detailed information including warehouse location
