OHIO TOBACCO PREVENTION FOUNDATION COLUMBUS, OHIO TOBACCO
Responsibilities include: Administer grants given by the foundation to non-profit and public agencies for the purpose of reducing tobacco use among Ohioans: Provide or arrange technical assistance for grantees; monitor and asses project accomplishments; review grantee narrative and expense reports; and conduct site visits to grant funded projects. Assist with development and management of Request for Proposal (RFP) processes: Writing RFP’s; disseminate information about RFP’s; conducting and/or arranging technical assistance workshops for applicants; developing proposal review and scoring criteria; review and scoring of proposals; prepare funding recommendations for the Foundation Board of Trustees. Assist with development of program initiatives designed to reduce tobacco use: Research best practices; and compiling relevant data; preparing program implementation plans. Represent the Foundation at public events: professional association meetings, conferences, and exhibits, etc. (Ohio State Legislature Dissolved the Foundation on 05/06/2008)

COMMUNITY HEALTH DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR AUGUST 2005 – FEBRUARY, 2008
Licking County Health Department Newark, Ohio
Responsibilities included: Direct and coordinate activities of public health education program; assign and review work; employee training in methods and procedures; and recommend any changes and updates on health education programs to the Health Commissioner (March, 2007). Develop and implement public health program; analyze target demographic areas within the county for program services; monitor program effectiveness and institute necessary changes to improve on productivity; resolve health education problems in the community. Consult with advisory groups, administrators, consultants, etc., in the development of an overall county health plan utilizing available funds and programs provided by other agencies and government entities. Develop and coordinate agency wide health education to be provided to the community through staff or private sector officials as program requires. Confer with Health Commissioner in the development of program policies and procedures; prepare or assist with preparation of financial and program reports, prepare grant applications (budgets, narratives, quarterly reports, annual reports, statistics, etc.). Provide public health education to the community (e.g. news releases, speeches, radio and TV presentations, etc.) to inform the public of services provided. Additional Information:
Currently, I am a Program Project Manager with the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation (OTPF) located in Columbus, Ohio. My duties include administering grants given by the foundation to non-profit and public agencies for the purpose of reducing tobacco use among Ohioans; assist with development and management of Request for Proposal (RFP) process; and assist with development of program initiatives designed to reduce tobacco use.

Recently, the Governor of Ohio announced a new economic stimulus package to turn around the struggling economy state-wide. Part of this package includes the reduction of the OTPF endowment by $230 million, which will eliminate programming and staff positions. The Foundation was abolished on May 6, 2008 by the Ohio State Legislature, and signed into law by the governor the same day. My current position will end on June 30, 2008.
