Marketing Manager 1995 - 2008 The Shopping Channel (Division of Rogers Media Inc.) Electronic retailer on TV and Online with a retail storefront in Toronto
Responsible for planning, development and execution of marketing communications and customer database analytics for The Shopping Channel (TSC). Reported to the V.P. Marketing and managed the Marketing department.
• Championed the development of a CRM strategy for TSC, which included the launch of a New customer welcome program, and Best customer retention programs. All were planned with specific ROI & retention objectives, test/control cells and executed via targeted direct mail monthly print mailings with purchase incentives, and exclusive web landing page communications.
• The New customer program continually showed positive ROI. The Best customer program helped generate an improved retention rate from the launch of monthly newsletter mailings, periodic reward/recognition mailings, increased promotional support and an increased quantity of product-specific direct mail campaigns.
• Led the development and execution of TSC’s national advertising campaigns that each year included magazines, newspapers, radio, TV & online vehicles, using both external agencies and internal resources.
• Developed a variety of consumer promotions communicated via print, TV and web, and often included Rogers and other 3rd party partners.
• Led the launch and complete production of the company’s first consumer seasonal catalogue in ’98. Creative design defined the company’s overall brand personality and was also applied on TV and online. Managed the overall annual production process including content planning, collaborating with Merchandising, staff hiring, photography, copywriting, final art, mailing list selection and post ROI analysis.
• Grew and evolved the catalogue program each year and increased catalogue sales with increased distribution, increased page count, and adjusting product content and page layouts. Implemented ROI analysis and improved ROI with more targeted list selections, increased vendor coop, and increased the # products/page while still maintaining an appealing creative design.
• Provided ongoing marketing intelligence to the Merchandising Group and TSC Management for developing key marketing and merchandising strategies (including customer database segmentation, U & A studies, predictive modeling, focus group research, direct marketing program ROI post-analyses).
• Prepared regular product sales/customer analyses that assisted the Merchants with their product and promotional strategies. Prepared analyses of product specific direct mail campaigns which led to a strong increase in co-op support.
National Marketing Manager 1992 - 1995 Rogers Cable Advertising (Division of Rogers Communications Inc.)
Responsible for planning, development and execution of marketing plans and sales force presentation materials for the “still-frame information channels”. Created the first marketing plan for the division and launched new ad campaigns for the main channel, “HomePlus, the Real Estate Channel” in transit, radio & TV, the success of which led to a transfer to The Shopping Channel.
