• Conducted various frequency band searches while providing identification, collection and analysis of any and/or all new and unusual high priority signal types within that frequency spectrum.
• Identification included using particular hardware including (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF receivers, demodulators, sonographs, bandwidth converters etc.)
• Analysis included removing modulation and any coding pattern recognition or encryption utilizing Unix programming skills involved in various signal types in order to continue collection on originally formatted data.
• Knowledge and experience for various types of communication systems and/or multiplexing schemes to include Time Division Multiplexed, Frequency Division Multiplexed, Pulse Code Modulated, Very Small Aperture Terminal, modems and many others .
• Experience with modulation types to include Frequency Modulation, Amplitude Modulation, Minimum Shift Keyed, Frequency Shift Keyed, Binary Phase Shift Keyed, Phase Shift Keyed, Quadrature Phase Shift Keyed, Staggered Quadrature Phase Shift Keyed, Offset Phase Shift Keyed, Quadrature Amplitude Modulation and others to date.
• Immediately relayed and reported accurate real-time signal characteristics, parameters and locations to relevant intelligence sources within a timely manner.
• Worked as part of a 7 person team in a high stress 24 hour environment consisting of U.S. military services (Navy, Marines and Air Force) along with foreign intelligence agencies and Department of Defense civilians.
• Experience utilizing multiple positions and common resources performing on the job training for new (military and civilian) Signal Collection Analyst trainees.
• Led training consisting of use of numerous forms of hardware to understand signal theory and characteristics.
• Taught different ways and reasons for collection and the need for detailed reporting for signal analysis and identification.
• Reported and updated national signal databases for further identification and analysis requirements.
• Performed duties as a Platoon Sergeant / Assistant Platoon Sergeant and Squad Leader managing 10 to 25 personnel in a 24 hour environment for over 3 years.
• Performed mapping requirements for Digital and Analog cellular networks in specific areas of interest.
