Manufacturing support. Production Control, buying, estimating, job planning, problem solving, customer and/or vendor liaison, etc.


Experience:
Quality Plastic Industries, Newark, CA. Production Control. All the job travelers, associated paperwork, purchase requisitions, scheduling, organizing, enforcing, and reporting and, create the best shop-floor team work and atmosphere, I have ever known. 08/06 – 04/07.

Ajax Custom Plastics, Union City, CA. Production fabricator and special projects. I’ve still got it! 04/06 – 08/06.

MOSS Precision, Hayward, CA. Buyer/Planner. Buy all material, tooling, hardware, and shop supplies for the machine shop division of this machine shop/sheet metal company. Cement vendor relations in order to meet company objectives. Get quotes for all new, large or special material and hardware. Find sub-contractors for new and improved services, and work with same for proper delivery. Receive and distribute all purchased items. Set up and maintain consignment tooling. Make and update job routers. The vendors and subcontractors quickly learned that doing business with me was smooth and trouble free. I always got the best they could give. I more than paid my salary with the money I saved this company. 02/04 - 09/05.

Serra Corporation, Hayward, CA. Estimator/Planner. “Front office support” to the machine shop division of this machine shop/sheet metal company. Estimate and plan jobs and trouble shoot problems for same. Contact with customer to solve problems, answer questions, and bring in new work. The outside sales staff soon learned to rely on my support. I handled all the details and problems that came up so they could concentrate on sales. Management learned that my work is thorough, detailed down the last weld, nut, or rivet, and “real world” oriented. All the accounts I worked with discovered that my words are solid and reliable. Jatco, Union City, CA. Production Supervisor for 30 machine injection molding shop. Orchestrated jobs and permanent and temporary personnel with machines for smoothest product flow, dealing with about 50% English speaking workforce. Scale Models Unlimited, Menlo Park, CA. (Sister company to Wielgus West) Special projects involving machining of various materials. Instructed others in proper machining techniques. 10/89 – 3/91.

Hopkins International, Berkeley, CA. Set up and improve machining techniques of metal parts for silk screen printing machines. Modified and streamlined procedures improving workflow. 2/88 – 5/89.

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Richmond, CA. Co-Founded newly created plastics division. Produced electrophoresis cells and other medical diagnostic equipment. Invented parts, created organizing systems, solved production problems. Aided in training and improving procedures. Was looked to and successfully resolved new, unusual and difficult projects. 12/80 – 10/84.

Plastic Works, Berkeley, CA. Organized and improved timely operation of shipping and receiving. Introduction to plastics fabrication. Discovered talent for fabrication and clear bonding techniques, surpassing my instructors. 1/80 – 12/80.

27 + Years experience in “light manufacturing” doing everything from actually making the parts to directing all manufacturing operations and everything in between. Experience with plastics, wood, and metals. Have always risen above “worker” to at least some level of management.
