Over 25 years progressively responsible management experiences, including Operations and Materials Management for a leader in high performance quality specialized converting of foams, primarily in the aerospace market. • Managed Operations of a fabricator job shop with over 30 employees and annual sales in excess of $2.5 million.

• Managed Materials - responsible for planning, sourcing, procurement, supplier development, inventory management, negotiations and expediting with purchases in excess of $1 million annually.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Turned around plant operation to become more efficient and profitable. Evaluated existing procedures and personnel; increased production; reduced operating costs; developed and managed operating budget; scheduled meetings with customers to review requirements; trained quality inspectors to implement tighter quality control; implemented training process to improve quality control. Results: Exceeded all corporate goals; turned a company that was losing money to profitable in one year and experienced a significant growth in sales and profits the following year.
• Established strong working relationships with major customers to increase sales, address past quality and shipment problems/issues. Results: rescue existing key account saving company $500K per year.
• Improved inventory accuracy from 70% to over 98%. Reduced variances from over $25,000 to less than $500. Established a series of controls to keep inventory accurate.
• Built strong relationships with key vendors, building sales through their referrals.
• Added key vendors, improving quality, delivery and cost. Eliminated marginal or poor performing vendors.
• Negotiated consignment inventory with vendors, saving the company working capital at a time when it was financially struggling.
• Recognized the sales and profit potential in Aerospace. Initiated the company’s first aerospace sales and paved the way for it to become a Boeing certified supplier.
• Managed and coordinated logistics for major suppliers and customers. Utilizing feedback from customers and suppliers; determined need of new freight carriers; implemented FAK’s, lowered freight costs making company more competitive.
• Created accurate costing systems to correctly determine new part costs, forecast profits and maximize the potential of securing new business.
• Developed Approved Supplier List, Procedures & Supplier Survey and Performance Review for AS9100 achievement.
• Established and managed local warehouse, ensuring service levels and additional cost savings while creating needed space for aerospace expansion.
• Proven performer, started as the companies first operator shortly after its inception, progressing to lead operator, cost estimator, materials planner, materials manager, production manager, plant manager and finally operations manager. Currently the most tenured employee on staff of the original company prior to its acquisition by Forest City in 2003.
