During my time at IRD I developed an industry first infra-red detection system specifically for the security applications, mainly governmental applications, that leads each wing and is not back ground color sensitive or motion sensitive. It is adjustable from 3 inches to as much as 10 feet, and the sensor it self is not visible. This greatly improved the versatility and accuracy of the security application and added greater safety because it kept the user in the center of the quadrant and the door adjusted speed to accommodate the users or to reject the users, depending on the application. It will start to be introduced in to the regular markets sometime in 2008 or 2009.
Designed, manufactured, integrated dedicated PIC processors for special application controls like reduced height ceilings or all glass ceilings for security applications.
Developed “Insta-Lock” wing lock on demand systems for controlled fire egress and security applications, this was used for instant wing collapse or wing lock to block wing collapse, without using carrier arms either integrated with existing access/security control or remote manual controls such as Hotel Desk Managers for easier group client entry.
