Objective: To obtain a permanent position in the US as a Daycare Director. To lead a team of dedicated child care professionals to new levels of personal development and success and to provide the highest quality fo child care to the community in a safe and nurturing environment.
Experience: I have experience as both a Manager and Director of large non-profit childcare centres. I have direct experience with the many types of licensed care including: Infant & Toddler Care, Group Daycare, Preschool, Kindercare and Out of School Care programs. I have worked closely with funders and licensing in establishing, from conception, five childcare programs in two different facilities. I have entensive experience with grants, fundraising and budget creation and management. I have a great deal of experience researching, compiling and formatting information in order to create useful reports that allow for decision-making. I have successfully applied for Federal, Provincial, corporate and charity grants used for capital projects and to initiate new programs and services.
Education: I hold a Bachelor of Child and Youth Studies and am a licensed Early Childhood Educator and Special Needs Educator with twelve years of experience in the childcare field. In addition I hold a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Child Psychology.
Affiliations: Alberta ECE Calgary Rural Child Care Committee Association for the Education of Young Children
Skills: I have excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written, and the ability to plan, organise and conduct programs and activities. I have experience working with Microsoft Office, Internet browsers, Excel spreadsheets, and Windows XP.
Additional Information: As an energetic, well-organised and dedicated employee who thrives on meeting challenges, problem solving and team building, I have enjoyed belonging to a work environment where every staff member feels they are important and responsible for the delivery of high quality programs. I have a personal philosophy that the early years are the most important in every child’s development, and that by supporting the families we help support the child. I also believe that each child, despite its circumstance, deserves an enriched childhood experience. By dedicating myself to this belief system I have enjoyed supporting and assisting parents with the challenges and the joys of raising their children. Whether it was offering myself up as an outlet for their frustrations, making referrals, researching information and resources or taking the time to listen to their concerns and successes, it is the small things we do in this career that will make the biggest impact on the quality of lives for the families we are committed to serve.
