I assist the terminal manager with assuring the terminal remains profitable, and overseeing the dock and the pickup and delivery (P & D) operations, plus the administrative staff. Direct and coordinate workers engaged in loading, unloading, recording, arranging, routing, and delivering incoming and outgoing freight shipments. Plan (P & D) schedules for truck drivers. Coordinate activities of operations to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel. Supervise and coordinate all activities of dockworkers and other support personnel. Provide planning, direction and control of all available resources for insuring timely, damage-free, safe loading / unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
