Objective: Looking for power generation maintenance job or heavy equipment diesel mechanic job in Dubai. Have over 20 years hands on experience.
Experience: 1973-1976 Repair Technician “A” - RCA Service Company Autec Project, Andros Island, Bahamas Responsibilities included operation, instruction, calibration and maintenance of K & E and Dietzgen Theodilites. Operate test positions on board test vessels and off-shore tracking towers. Set up and operate FM communications at these positions. Secret clearance required for this position.
1976-1980 Diesel Mechanic - Western Engines, Long Beach, CA Rebuilt Nuremberg heads, installed and ground new seats, installed rings and checked ring gap, used lead wire instead of plastic gauge on main bearings and checked clearance.
1980-1987 Diesel Mechanic - Future Engineering, Long Beach, CA (new company formed from Western Engines) Worked on contracts with cogeneration power plants and tugboats.
1987-1989 Diesel Mechanic - UNOCAL 76 Oil Company, Los Angeles Terminal Garage Performed fleet maintenance for 95 tanker trucks including all maintenance on Cummins, CAT and Detroit engines and engine overhauls, air conditioning, electrical, clutches, transmissions, rear ends, differentials, vapor recovery systems, etc.
1989-1993 Diesel Mechanic - TARSCO - Tank and Refinery Services Company, Fountain Valley, CA Handled all diesel related maintenance for oil refinery contracts, Territory covered northern and southern California coast and Arizona. Operated 14 half ton link belt crane and Le Bear tower crane. Was responsible for assembling and disassembling cranes. maintained and repaired Lincoln welders, AC and DC, Ingersoll Rand compressors and 398 and 399 CAT engines 400-600 kW and Detroit 150-350 kW generators.
1993-1995 Plant Manager - O’Brien Energy Services, Duarte, CA Ran cogeneration plant located in the City of Duarte. Plant had four 398 CAT engines, 400 kW each. Responsible for complete maintenance and operations of power plant. Synchronized the Duarte Power Plant with So. Calif. Edison power lines. Responsible for PM for generators and meters and monitored all output power. Left when O’Brien went into bankruptcy.
1995-1998 Howard Ecker’s Mobile Diesel Service Started own business servicing equipment for oil industry businesses such as stand-by generators, compressors, and other related equipment.
1998-2004 Union Pacific Railroad - Machinist Work on EMD645, EMD710 and EMDH locomotive engines. Remove and replace power assemblies, main bearings, rod bearings, turbos and governors and traction motors at the Los Angeles Locomotive Diesel Shop. Worked on gear trains and generator alignment for over four years.
2004-2007 Mac Tool Distributor - Owner Purchased and ran tool distributorship.
2007- present KBR - Generator Technician
Currently working in Tikrit, Iraq, performing all generator maintenance.
Education: 1971-1973 Combat Engineer and Welder (A.W.S. Certified) - United States Marine Corps.
