Objective:
To lead/manage J2EE web applications through all of SDLC. Design and implement robust and efficient solutions for the company.
Experience:
I am currently working in IBM as a senior java consultant with Blue Cross Blue Shield as the client. I have over 10 years of experience in IT industry with 6 years of it in J2EE environment. I have worked in various capacities including managerial and leadership roles. I have hands on experience using J2EE APIs, OO design, SOA, MVC (Spring, JSF, Struts and Tapestry) and ORM (Hibernate) frameworks and J2EE best practices. I also have solid understanding of design patterns, domain driven design, and UML modeling.
Team Lead - I have taken leadership roles in various applications. I have three years of experience as a Manager/Team lead in Lucent Technologies. In addition I provided three more years of Lucent.com (Java/J2EE) developmental support as a team lead. I also lead a team of individuals on BP-Amoco web migration project. On a project named PPS, I provided operational team lead support.
Programming - Involved in requirement analysis, modeling, development and testing of web based projects in JAVA/J2EE environment. Designed and hosted departmental web pages. Worked in a variety of frameworks such as Spring, Tapestry, JSF, Hibernate as well as in a variety of databases such as DB2, Oracle, MS SQL.
Quality Assurance - Ensured all applications met the requirements for CMM certification. Performed review on project documentations including design documents, work estimation, risk plan, test plan, deployment/build plan,
Production support - Provided both development and technical support for complex/critical applications. Coordinated with other teams in resolving end user issues promptly.
Administration - Provided administration for servers, databases as well as a content management system. Ensured the data were backed up as per schedule and worked on domain consolidation.
BlueCross BlueSheild- IL (J2EE) This project is to revamp the billing and account system using J2EE technologies using RAD 7.0, Struts, Hibernate, Spring, DB2 and CVS.Worked
on Spring MVC and Spring Security(Acegi). Designed physical model of domains using UML/RSA. Provided presentation to clients in using the spring related technologies.
USSCO project (J2EE) This project developed the Biggestbook.com website using J2EE technology for United Stationers Supply Company. The project used RAD 7.0 IDE. Spring, Hibernate,JSF, PVCS and CVS.
PCS project (J2EE) : This is a project for the website enhancement for IBM hardware purchasers to create and validate orders. The project uses Servlets, JSP, JSTL, XML with heavy emphasis on Spring framework. The web application environment uses WAS 5.1 and DB2 as the database. My work include designing, coding and unit testing of various modules, moderating reviews and issue resolution. RSA 6.0 was used for UML modeling.
PPS project (JAVA/XML): This is for IBM partners who access company website to manage their contracts, certifications, awards and other related information. The project uses WebSphere/ DB2 plus JAVA, XML, Spring framework and Tapestry for development. My work included coding and unit testing using Java, XML and Spring framework; and developing UI interfaces using Tapestry. In addition, I was also involved in system integration and user acceptance testing.
Lucent.com Project (J2EE): The project is catered to internal/external users for the creation Lucent switching/data products and develops a price quote. The integrated system includes WAS, I-Planet Web Server, Tomcat server, Oracle DB, MSSQL DB, XML, Web-Methods EAI, MQ-Series, Visual Basic and document management system. I provided development support on WAS / VB environments plus troubleshot issues with EAI and MQSI. I also work on the Oracle MSSQL DB on data related issues. The infrastructure include development, test, UAT and production systems, with UAT and production systems working in clustered environment. I used PVCS and VSS.
PERL Project : 3000+ employees use this application for providing time sheets and project accounts for payroll. The application runs on SunOS 5.8 system on Apache web servers with PERL and shell scripts. It uses connect-direct to export weekly time sheets to payroll systems. I use sublime for software configuration management.
Warranty Project (Support): This system provides information on warranties on Lucent products. It runs on SunOS 5.6 and uses C, C++ and shell programs with Power-Builder and web interface.
Project (VB): This application receives xml quote file from quoting system, manipulates the file into Excel file for editing, and at users request creates an updated xml file for downstream processing of quotes and proposals.
Project (Document Management/Workflow): Livelink is a highly scalable comprehensive electronic document management system. It is a web-based system with real time update capability and user definable workflow process and projects. About 4000+ employees within Lucent use it. It uses Livelink CGI application (by OpenText) and runs behind IIS 5.0 using MSSQL DB. I provide administrative support including IIS administration, database modifications and troubleshooting interfaces to other systems.
Project (BP Amoco - Team Lead - Web server configuration): The project involved migration of 100+ web based applications from MFN systems to IBM in US and UK. My work included providing technical expertise to the team involved in the migration. The websites were run under varying platforms such as Unix, Windows 2000, and Linux; on web servers such as IIS, Apache; using application servers such as web logic, cold fusion; with databases such as Oracle, MSSQL and MySQL. investigated, isolated and resolved many critical problems.
