SUMMARY:
Over 20 years progressively responsible senior management experiences, including Plant and Project Management for a major Building Products manufacturing company, Plant Manager for a major glass processing company and Command Master Chief onboard four major naval commands. These positions have been fast-paced, challenging, broad in scope and have required strong managerial and strategic planning capability.

Plant Manager/Project Manager/Shipping Manager
• Managed Architectural Masterworks Department of 131 production personnel to include 87 Alabama Department of Corrections inmates and 6 shift supervisors.
• Responsible for the production, quality and packaging of polyurethane architectural capitals, medallions, balustrade system products, poly-resin porch post and cellular pvc columns, manufacturing ,5000 plus parts daily.
• Project Manager for the installation of the CNC V-groove and Cross Cut machinery required for new cellular pvc perma-wrap line product line.
• Coordinated and managed move of Rotor-Molder machinery and plant operations from Minnesota to Alabama.
• Responsible for the operational planning, coordinating logistics, and supervising the movement of 2 newly acquired Flexible molding operation plants from Fontana, California and Garner, North Carolina to Alabama.
• Developed and managed new staff training to include 2 supervisors and 44 production employees in production procedures, packaging /shipping requirements, and quality control of this new custom Flexible moldings operations.

• Developed and managed preventive maintenance program for two processing plants; heavy loading equipment (front end loaders, forklifts); tractor trailers and railcar loading conveyor.

• Project manager for redesign, overhaul and installation of 5/8 processing plant; rail track spur extension; design and installation of railcar loading conveyor; and plant conversion to 480 volts.

Command Master Chief, Departmental Manager, Divisional Manager
• Responsible for morale, training, discipline and quality of life for more than 5,000 staff and students at 4 major commands, including an aircraft carrier and the largest naval aviation training command.
• Supervised and managed of up to 100 man department’s onboard 3 major commands.
• Managed facilities for 5 commands including 2 aircraft carriers, an 850K sq. ft. naval aviation training center and 65K sq. ft navy brig.

Operations Management, Facilities Management and Quality Control
• Turned around plant operation to become more efficient and profitable. Evaluated existing procedures and personnel; developed strategic operations plan to define guidelines and operational procedures; increased production; developed and managed operating budget; scheduled meetings with customers to review requirements; trained quality inspectors to implement tighter quality control; implemented training process to improve quality control. Results: Exceeded all corporate goals; increased revenues from $650K to $1.2 M
• Brought plant operations into compliance with OSHA safety standards within two days of being hired as Plant Manager of major glass processing company, inspected equipment and determined the need of major repairs; closed two days to correct safety violations; developed and implemented new safety training program. Results: no injuries or equipment damage and received company safety award for two consecutive years.
• Coordinated/managed preparations for accelerated deployment of naval operations that reduced six-month process to thirty days. Due to emergency situation, demand for deployment project was accelerated; coordinated planning and implementation of procedures; evaluated crews readiness, reviewed qualifications; developed and scheduled training; coordinated the embarkation and logistics of 500 personnel, 100 vehicles. Results: Ship was able to deploy one year early, with only 30-day notice in support of vital, national level missions.
Client Relations and Staff Development
• Established strong working relationships with major customers to increase sales, address past quality and shipment problems/issues. Results: rescue existing key account saving company $500K per year.
• Implemented major personnel changes to get higher level of skills and ensure staff was in appropriate functional positions; developed and implemented new training programs; developed new qualification standards; Results: Improved quality of product; reduced equipment downtime; improved teams morale and attendance.
• Performed as the principle enlisted advisor onboard four major commands, including an aircraft carrier and the largest naval aviation training command world wide; responsible for the morale, welfare, training and quality of life for as many as 5000 staff and students.
• Launched a campaign to get Aviation Warfare Specialist qualification program reinstatement for Patrol Squadron Thirty; Results: reinstatement of program not only at Patrol Squadron Thirty, but for the entire Navy’s Fleet Replacement Squadrons.
Project/Logistics Management
• Coordinated design and installation of conveyor for loading railcar that enabled company to have more efficient and cost effective means of getting product to customer. Results: conveyor was operational five days ahead of schedule and $2K under budget; freight savings exceeded $37K per year.
• Spearheaded the redesign, overhaul and installation of a non-operational 5/8 processing plant; Results: plant operational 2 weeks ahead of schedule and $4k under budget; increased production 100%.
• Designed and implemented preventive maintenance program for processing plants and heavy loading equipment. Scheduled maintenance daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually; challenged maintenance manager to take more proactive approach to preventive maintenance; Results: lowered operating cost 35%; reduced equipment downtime and reduced spare parts inventory.
• Managed and coordinated logistics for major suppliers and customers. Utilizing feedback from customers, suppliers and railroad; determined need of new freight carriers; implemented new loading procedures IAW DOT; developed and managed schedule for carriers and railroad; Results: improved shipment dependability 100% and saved $37K in freight costs.
• Coordinated and supervised the Installation of the V- Groove, Cross Cut CNC machinery for the new cellular PVC column product line; Results: Project completed 2 days ahead of schedule and within budget, production 2 weeks ahead of companies expectations.
