Material Handler

Job Summary:
Use of fork truck to move raw materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated places in the facility or onto trucks. To set up and operate a variety of punch presses in conformance with company set-up and quality standards. Responsible for efficient and time-effective set-up and quality and quantity of product produced.


Essential Functions:
1. Use of fork truck performs various material handling duties in the facility.
2. Manually loads raw material or finished product on fork truck.
3. Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas. Clean up and dispose of scrap material, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers and designated areas.
4. Obtain copy of production run schedule and determines need for change over of press die components.
5. Bring skids of designated raw material to press area.
6. Use Fork truck to remove bins of finished product from press. Place empty container at discharge end of press.


Additional Responsibilities:
1. May be assigned as shipping department sweeper in absence of regular employee.
2. Assist with product repair when not occupied in above duties.
3. Former Member of Steering Committee.


Job Qualifications:
1. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds of weight. Must wear safety goggles when operating machinery.
2. Willingness to learn other line jobs to serve as utility person for breaks or lunch.
3. Willingness to work rotating, continuous seven-day work cycle.
4. Experience in operating a 15,000 pound overhead crane.

Job Summary:
Service and repair internal combustion engines on Naval Ship's. Work with diesel engines, operate and maintain electrohydraulic controllable pitch propeller systems and sterring engines, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, air compressors, desalinization plants and small auxiliary boilers.

Essential Functions:
1. Aligining fuel, water and air piping systems and controlling operation of diesel engines used for ship and small craft propulsion.
2. Preventive maintenance on diesel engines, reduction gears, air compressors, hydraulic or pneumatic clutches.
3. Operating and maintaining desalinization plants used to make fresh water from sea water, operating and servicing refrigeration plants and air conditioning systems.
4. Repairing or replacing valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and control devices used with diesel engines and gas turbines.
5. Write entries into and analyze machinery operating records and reports.

Additional Rrsponsibilities:
1. Stand watches of main spaces.
2. Trained to responed to Fires with extensive training in the main space to learn proper technique's to respond and use proper materials to extinguish fires.
3. Trained on the fundamental's of elevator maintance and operating.

Jobs Qualifications:
1. Align, operate, and secure, drain, ballasting, deballasting systems, steam systems, fuel oil, lube oil systems, cooling water systems, distilling plants, potable water, air systems, fire and flushing systems, secure air conditioning and refrigeration systems, reducing stations. Record pressure and temperature readings.
2. Maintain fuel and lube oil systems, air systems, steam systems, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, gasoline and diesel engines, firemain systems, stripping, drain, bilge, and tank, pumps, ventilation systems, tools, and auxiliary boilers.
3. Maintain and review logs, drawings, and jsn logs.
