Objective: I have been in nursing for 25 years. I have loved my profession and am very passionate about caring for people. I worked at Hartford Hospital , where I specialized in cardio-vascular nursing. staff nurse Bradley Memorial Hospital in Meriden Road Southington, CT January 1994 to January 1998 Duties included providing sae nursing care to pre and post op patients in a med-surg, orthopedic setting. Skills required were IV skills, sae IV medication administration, hanging TPN and blood transfusions, physical assessment skills,pain management and patient education upon discharge. case manager Middlesex Hospital HomeCare in 51 Broad St, Middletown, CT March 1998 to May 2003 Duties included providing nursing care to patient's with multiple diagnoses, which included wound-care, teaching safe and proper medication administration, administering IV meds to patient's with PICC lines, and management thereof.I taught new diabetics, safe insulin administration,s/s of hypo-hyperglycemia, s/s of infection, and when to call 911 or call MD. I was instrumental in helping to start The HeartSmart program to monitor CHF patients in order to avoid frequent exacerbations and admissions to the hospital.
