Objective: I am a enthusiastic, honest, loyal, caring, dependable, outgoing and friendly Registered Nurse that is very interested in a long term job in a clinical or hospital setting to utilize my Registered Nursing skills by aiding the Physicians, nursing staff, patients, and all other employees with whom I work to provide the best possible care for our patients. I have three and a half years experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, one year experience in Home Health nursing, and one year and four months experience in Psychiatric nursing as a Registered Nurse. I also have two years experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a very busy Medical Clinic with nine Doctors before I went to college and got my Registered Nursing Degree. I am a very fast learner and I have a lot of experience in multiple areas of Medicine. I work well with Doctors, other employees, and with patients and their families.
Experience:
Charge Nurse Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah September 2007 to February 2008 • Worked with the patients and the other employees to provide a safe, organized, happy, and unified schedule for each shift so that our patients were being provided with the best quality of care possible. • Delegated to all of the employees I was in charge of their duties to make the day go as smoothly and as familiar to our patients as possible to provide opportunities for all of our patients to attend scheduled groups, activities, medication times, and meals. • Provided a daily report to the employees getting to work so they were all aware of the changes and what has been going on since their last shift so we all worked with unity together. I also provided this same report to the Physicians, Medical personnel involved on our unit, the Social Workers, the Unit Nursing Director, and the Administrative Director so that we could as a team make the changes necessary to benefit our patients in the best way possible. • Charting on several patients every day on the computer about the patients problems and their progress as it was weekly and monthly on the patients. Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah March 2002 to August 2005 • Patient care of both Post-op patients as well as all Medical admissions from the Emergency room or a Physicians admission. Some of my skills included intravenous administration, phlebotomy, physical assessments that were differentiated depending on the problem, vital signs, wound care, PICC lines, Central lines, Port-o-caths, placing Foley and other urinary catheters, hanging blood and other intravenous medications as ordered, taking blood sugars and administering the ordered insulin, daily patient cares, admissions, and discharges. • Worked one on one with many different types of Physicians and taking verbal, telephone, and written orders from them. I also assisted the Physicians when they were in the hospital with whatever they needed and provided them with pertinent information about their patients to assist in better quality of care. • Charting on each patient I took care of on both a computer and on paper when needed.
