>> In 2008, assisted in creating www.KenyaHelpUs.org in partnership with Child’s Hope International, which in two weeks time raised over $11,000 in rapid-response aid for refugees displaced by Kenya’s post-election violence.

>> 2003-2007; graduate of Monmouth College in Environmental Science and recipient of the Mr. and Mrs. Workman Environmental Scholarship. Conducted a three year long research project with the spider Cyclosa conica, well-versed in field and laboratory research protocols, and participated in multiple prairie restoration projects including extensive Global Information System (GIS) work. Resident Assistant in 2007.

>> In 2007, worked as the environmental consultant for New Song Funding Exchange in South Africa and Zambia, assessing environmental impact of a large local agribusiness. Additionally, assisted in establishing New Song’s environmental assessment criteria for project investments.

>> In 2007, served as a member of the Resolution Committee for the United Nations International Global Warming Conference in New York City, tasked with developing inventive ways to stop global climate change in the United States and internationally.

>> In 2006, created and oversaw implementation of a summer environmental education camp for ages 6-16 at the Belize Zoo. In 2005 in Belize, conducted economic development workshops for women in Mayan villages with Jaguar Creek, an environment and sustainability focused NGO.

>> Various part-time jobs including several years as a staff member of Planter’s Palette, an Illinois landscaping and nursery company, as well as stints with the DuPage County Forest Preserve working on native-plant preservation and wetlands restoration.


Education:
>> Co-founder of Listen Up! an on-campus education and fundraising organization engaged on various global issues. In 2005, served as fundraising coordinator for the Tsunami Relief Program and created and lead the “Recycling Posse” from 2005-2006.

>> At Monmouth held the office of Vice President for Coalition of Ethnic Awareness and served as a volunteer Student Chaplain from 2004-2007 as well as an active member of the President’s Student Advisory Council from 2005-2006.

>> Outside of research I have a passion for traveling and environmental work
