ELECTRONIC DATA SYSTEMS (1995-2007)
IT Solution Architect
Solutioned a Desktop refresh project for a 30,000 seat EDS Client. This solution included new hardware deployment, software distribution, asset disposal and resulted in a 30% cost reduction for EDS compared to the solution that was in place. Solutioned a data center optimization / consolidation plan for one of EDS Global Financial Clients. The solution included server consolidation, application optimization, disaster recovery processes, a build out of a new data center and the relocation of 800 servers and 300 end users. This solution effectively reduced the footprint of the Clients Manhattan datacenter by 35% resulting in substantial real estate related and operational expenses.
PMO / Project Planning & Execution Subject Matter Expert
Created reusable project schedules and project implementation management related documents eliminating the need to develop the plans and create the documents for each new project saving the project teams several weeks of time in the startup and planning phases of the projects. Redefined the project team roles and responsibilities based upon project size and scope in order to maximize resources reducing team size while also reducing project execution time. Selected by Leadership to represent Service Delivery on project review boards to insure that the project approach was sound, achievable in the proposed timeframe, properly funded and supportable by service delivery upon project completion. Mentor and trainer for new department resources which included identifying the groups training requirements and creating curriculum. Project lead tasked with standardizing transition project costs in all global graphic regions. This ultimately eliminated the need to engage a project planning resource from each of the regions that would be responsible for implementing the project saving considerable time and project start-up costs.
