3/07 - present Gerson Lehrman Group Position: Independent Fitness Industry Consultant Provided services to banks, lending institutions and investment groups.
8/06 – 2/07 Merritt Athletic Clubs Position: Vice President of Sales Managed sales team for 10 club chain in the Baltimore, MD area Introduced a sales and management training program resulting in quality sales and lower attrition.
2003 – 2006 LA/Fitness International Position: District Vice President Managed clubs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia Ran presales and opened 13 clubs. Consistently the top VP in the Northeast.
2002 - 2003 Quickfit International Position: Independent Consultant to Fitness Industry Provided consulting services ranging from sales to site selection. Largest clients were LA/Fitness, Gold’s, Healthtrax and Bally Total Fitness.
1997 – 2002 Sport & Health, Inc. Position: Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer Managed the Sales and Operations for 26 health clubs with Revenues of $66M and an EBITDA of $12M.
1984 - 1997 The Sporting Clubs of America Position: President Started as General Manager of the Tysons Corner Sporting Club, an 85,000 square foot upscale club that generated $1M profit annually. As Vice President and member of the National Development Team, I designed, developed, staffed and opened large upscale multi-purpose health and fitness facilities valued in excess of $200M. As President, I was responsible for all General Managers and Controllers and the management and financial performance of eleven facilities with revenues in excess of $40M.
1975 - 1984 United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Position: UNIDO Business Consultant (Expert) Managed quasi-government businesses in developing nations, with headquarters in Vienna, Austria and working in the South Pacific, Asia and the Caribbean.
