Experience: Sangaree Boutique – Alexandria, VA. Merchandising Manager (February 2007-present) •Travel both domestically and internationally sourcing high end women’s apparel and accessories designers. •Identify high end women’s apparel and accessories trends ensuring buys are ahead of the curve and provide the right merchandise to the customer base. •Negotiate payment and shipping terms as well as gain 100% exclusivity of selected brands within the boutique. •Manage, develop and execute strategic merchandise financial plans and strategies to support the financial growth of the company. •Coordinate and assign retail pricing for all merchandise; working with senior management in establishing corporate mark-up policies. •Create promotional strategies to achieve departmental financial objectives. •Develop detail unit and dollar merchandise assortment plans at the classification level. •Plan and forecast open to buy, merchandise sales, inventory and gross margins and manage stock to sales ratios and inventory productivity. •Allocate merchandise to the boutique at the style, color and size level consistent with store needs and in coordination with merchandise plans. •Analyze and report actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. •Analyze assortment mix to understand and optimize assortment strengths and weaknesses. •Responsible for creation of company merchandising guidelines and principles. •Develop and implement merchandising policies, procedures and process flows from all aspects of the organization, ensuring that operations run at an efficient and effective level. •Responsible for visual merchandising needs of the boutique – managing windows changes, store floor sets, and ensuring the maintenance of consistent brand messaging. •Create product style guides to educate boutique staff on product assortments, fabrications, and price points of brands. •Serve as the primary link between the merchandising department and the retail field, ensuring that merchandising standards are communicated and adhered to. •Travel to the boutique to conduct merchandising trainings and audits. •Collaborate with external contacts to ensure customs clearance of international goods.
The Sports Zone - Beltsville, MD.
