Objective: Dear Sir/Madam:
In response to the paralegal's position you have advertised, attached is my resume for your consideration. As you will note, I received my paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program. Coursework included matrimonial law, torts, litigation, contracts, business organizations, probate, legal research and writing, real estate, computers and the law, and alternate dispute resolution. I can use Lexis/Westlaw, other online research tools, and/or print materials for research purposes.
I currently work for a personal injury attorney, as a contract paralegal, at $15/hour. My duties include trial prep; drafting summons & complaint, subpoenas, bill of particulars, letter to client/opposing counsel; contacting medical offices to obtain clients' medical records and/or schedule clients' medical exams.
I would like a position where I am a regular, salaried employee, with the opportunity to work full time, to move up within a company/corporate structure, and to do challenging work.
In addition to the paralegal certificate, I hold an M.A. in British Literature, and maintain teacher certification in New York and New Jersey.
I am available to interview at your earliest convenience.
If you have any questions, or would like further information, please contact me via email, or at the number listed on my resume.
Yours truly,
Cara Sergio
