I have been, and/or currently am, a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Wilderness Society, Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics, MAPS, etc., in their efforts to lobby regionally, state-wide, nationally, and globally to protect and improve the environment, human rights, civil liberties, and world health; I have also participated in environmental activism with the Faith & Environment Network, Conservation Northwest, Wildcanada, NRDC, SYRCL, and many others over the years, and continue to do so. I have read extensively: the complete works of John Muir, Umberto Eco, Mircea Eliade; speculative and science fiction including Gibson, Stephenson, Sturgeon, Cordwainer Smith, Spinrad, Bruner, et al; political, social, and cultural criticism; philosophy, metaphysics, and theology; multi-universe, multi-dimensional, and chaos, theories; neuro-anatomy and ethno/psychopharmacology.
