Lassoing between the law firm, the clients and the defendants resulted in an increase of amicable settlements with fewer trials. Marketed law firms’ legal services directly to the metropolitan tri-state area railroad employees. Worked independently resolving conflicts in a positive manner with minimal direction. Former status as a New Jersey Transit Claim Agent allowed for greatly improved relations between the railroads and the law firm. Improved relations between the law firm and the railroads dramatically increased productivity and profitability.
NEW JERSEY TRANSIT RAIL OPERATIONS, INC., Newark, NJ 1986-1989 Claim Agent Investigated and settled all bodily injury and property damage claims brought against the railroad by employees and passengers. Assisted Deputy Attorney Generals’ office with the defense of the railroad by attending trials and providing logistical support to attorney. Adept in the knowledge of the Safety Appliance Act, Boiler Inspection Act and the Federal Employee Liability Act as well as the various state tort acts. These acts concern themselves with laws governing the liability of the railroad to the railroad employees and passengers.
