Objective:
Monitors a 24x7 SAP environment in support of multiple sites and multiple production instances.
Performs maintenance on and installation of servers, workstations software upgrades.
Responds to and assists end users in trouble shooting and resolution of operational problems.
Essential Functions An employee in this position, may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. Provides 24x7 hardware and software technical support to end users of the company.
Serves in an on-call capacity to respond to disruptions of service with hardware or operating systems.
Trouble shooting and resolving problems in order to restore service to normal.
Contacts hardware vendor on service calls as required.
Receives and responds to help desk tickets on hardware, operating system and software malfunctions.
Works with users to trouble shoot and resolve problems.
Installs operating systems onto servers, assigns ip addresses, hostnames and passwords for onsite and remote site locations. Performs integration and upgrades on multiple platforms and configurations. Installs and backs out patches to server when necessary.
Manages the configuration, tuning, distribution of the SAP system. Gathers SAP usage and performance statistics on a daily basis.
Monitors the printing of documents. Works with spool servers. Reviews and monitors wait queus and service times.
Investigates causes and makes adjustments as necessary. Documents any and all changes that are made.



Experience:
5½ years experience as a SAP BASIS Administrator in SAP R/3 versions 4.6C and R/3 Enterprise, NW04 on Unix AIX, HP, Sun Solaris, Windows NT platforms and IBM OS/390.
Over 9+ years experience in Database Administration on Windows NT & UNIX platforms.
IBM Certified in DB2 UDB Administration and Performance tuning
SAP R/3 Installations on IBM OS/390, Windows NT, UNIX - AIX, HP, Sun Solaris.
Experienced in installing Net-weaver components and SAP Portal platforms.
Good Experience on WAS 6.20/6.40, BW3.1/3.5, ITS 6.20, and Enterprise Portal 5.0/6.0, R3 E.C.C 5.0/Ent 4.7, APO 3.2, SCM 4.0, SRM 4.0,CRM 4.0,Solution Manager 3.2.
