Cost Reduction

Negotiated with different vendors to find better price for services. Set up bids with vendors to get best price. Result: Change in vendors, reducing costs by 10% while improving online ordering process.



Initiated review of shipping costs. Noticed satellite office was paying more for shipping costs. Reviewed billing statements, found areas to reduce costs, and contacted a representative of Express Service Company to review account. Result: Reduced shipping costs by 20%.



Originated new procedures to reduce food costs for a restaurant. Established new par levels for perishable products, which was a source of higher costs and product waste. Trained supporting managers on proper inventory control and importance of detailed reporting. Delegated new duties to Kitchen Supervisor on ordering accuracy and proper product rotation. Result: Restaurant lowered food costs below the company average while teaching staff proper techniques of inventory control.



Developed a plan to combat fluctuating bar costs, which affected monthly P&L and reflected poorly on bar employees. Initiated open book policy with bar staff to view totals and get feedback. Stabilized ordering to reduce inventory spikes while training staff on proper work techniques and waste reporting. Result: Lowered overall bar costs, eliminated inventory spikes, and improved performance and staff morale.



Trainer and Motivator

Trained clients on better utilizing existing equipment. Showed client on a one to one basis to create color copies without need of color copier for hard copies. Result: Reduced need to outsource projects saving time and money while teaching them how to better utilize technology.



Elected to be a member of a training team sent for intensive training seminar for new technology to dramatically change our business model. Problem-Solving/Turnarounds

Turned around a poorly run store. Replaced the terminated General Manager, who had not been compliant to company standards, which resulted in poor results in all areas of review. Developed short and long-term goals for staff, retrained staff on procedures, and demonstrated plan for success. Result: Commended by Regional Management for my quick turnaround and marked improvement in all areas of review.



Volunteered to take over as Kitchen Supervisor for two different restaurants at the same time. Approached ownership about simultaneously supervising two restaurants because they were low on Management staff. Quickly learned all aspects of new restaurant and was supervising the other location after a week of training. Result: Received a bonus from ownership for taking on new responsibility, which praised me for my effort and teamwork and saving the company time and resources to recruit and train a new Supervisor.



Improved customer relations by expanding role of Production Manager on Duty. Answered sales calls after hours to reduce response time from sales staffs, who were on call. Acted as sales representative to clients, fulfilling needs, and delivering results. Developed training for production staff management in coordination with sales team on properly picking up after hours work. Result: Commended by Sales team for innovative actions. Improved response time and customer relations.
