SOUTHERN CIRCUITS, DeKalb, MS 2006 to Sept. 2007 Plant Manager
Working Plant Manager responsible for plastic extrusion facility that produces electrical harnesses and molds for refrigeration and freezer units. Learned all jobs in plant including use of tool and die molds which are modified when changing production setups. Oversee all functions of plant, including employment, quality, training, scheduling, production goals and deadlines, and labor relations issues. Plant presently employs 60 workers, including production and management staff.
THE MERIDIAN STAR, Meridian, MS 2005-2006 Circulation Director Responsible for supervising seven Managers and Customer Service Representatives, as well as 20 mailroom employees and their Manager. Overall responsibility for Circulation Department, including scheduling, budgeting, collections, shipping and receiving, customer service, marketing and goal of increased circulation. • Solely responsible for over $1,200 per month increased revenue by soliciting and securing distribution of a popular NASCAR magazine to over 100 in-store outlets in our delivery area. Recognized by magazine distributor for personal efforts. • Increased efficiency and productivity by initiating efforts to clean and organize docks and staging areas. NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, Canton, MS 2003-2005 Area Manager Initial assignment was Final Line Technician. Learned all 20 jobs in six months; had ZERO DEFECTS during that time. Promoted to Truck Trim Area Manager, supervised 30 technicians in longest production line in plant. • Reduced paint mutilation defects from 35% of total defects found to 13%, which was well below company average. Left that project, but was asked to return as defects began to climb after reassignment. • Responsible for checking each Infiniti for 50+ quality standards. Defects communicated to Area Manager and defect tracked to technician for correction of problem. Total of 30-40 major defects discovered and corrected during tenure on this assignment. • Increased productivity while assigned as Repair Yard Manager by supervising rotating group of technicians to ensure quality inspections were performed on all assembled units. Ensured yard was clear of units for next week¡¦s start-up by coordinating repairs on each unit. Over 300 vehicles cleared on weekly basis. • Managed operations to repair over 4,000 trucks with major brake defect discovered on final inspection. Recommended more efficient method of correction which reduced downtime over 50% and was a substantial cost savings for the company.

• Won Grand Prize in sales contest for 2001 with over 200 new subscribers. • Moved to Rankin County area due to promotion to Distribution Center Manager. Supervised 20 independent contractors.
