Receptionist/Admin

At Philco my first responsibility was answering phones and helping the clients that came in. Handling all faxes and ensuring all US, UPS, and Fed Ex mail got out every night are other important things I did. I was also in charge of the petty cash box and making sure it always maintained $300. Filing was my other responsibility. I was also made to take care of all office equipment, run errands, order lunch, order office supplies, take out the trash, keep the office clean and always make sure the refrigerator was stocked with soda and water.

My other duties included; helping the Estimating department, taking care of faxing out Invitations to Bid, and when they came back I had the job of sorting, setting up the client and then entering in the responses into our Bid Solicitation software. I also had the task of sending out blue prints to our print shop and making calls when they came back in.

I was also admin to the Operations department. I helped in typing up subcontracts in the Jobber and making the copies to send out. I also helped with purchase orders, change orders as well as handling submittals that came in from the subcontractors.

When I wasn’t helping out Estimating or Operations, I would help accounting by entering in Certificates of Insurance in the Accounting software and then filing them. I also helped to file the lien releases.

2006-2007 Universal Engineering Sciences

Receptionist

During my time at UES, I mainly worked as the receptionist answering a 5 line switch board. My other duties included; helping clients, setting up meetings, faxing, shipping and receiving UPS, Fed Ex, and DHL. I also took care of all the US Mail, sorting and delivering.

During my down time I would assist other departments by helping to schedule inspectors, inputting results into the computer, making files and occasionally come in on the weekends to help with filing.

I worked in the bakery handling customer questions, plating our cheesecakes and other desserts. I help to maintain the overall cleanliness of the bakery and ensured the speediness of our service.

During my four years of high school I was in J.R.O.T.C. I earned the rank 1st Lieutenant and held many positions such as; Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Leader. I also had office positions such as; S-1 (took care of the entire battalion’s personals information, awards and ranks), S-4 (took care of taking inventory of all uniforms and riffles). My last year, I was a teacher assistant to our Colonel and took care of all his paperwork and often gave course lessons.

In 2001-2003 I was involved in DECA. I held the office position of public relations and was a teacher assistant. During the three years I went to 2 conferences and competed in district competitions 3 times taking home an award each time.

I was also selected to be in Who is Who among American High School Students recipient for 3 years.
