Objective:
To obtain an Electronics Technician position which will allow me to continue to grow professionally. One that will maximize my 20 years of Naval experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, upkeep, planning, implementation, and support of Electronic Communication, Navigation and Radar Systems.



Experience:
Communications/Radar Primary Technician /Work Center Supervisor/ USS CARR (FFG- 52) 2006 – Present

- Maintained and managed Electronic Work Center responsible for the entire Communications Suite with 100% operability and reduced downtime. Also, upon reporting onboard was sole Air-Search Radar Technician allowing the ship to meet schedule and mission readiness.
- Trained and developed a 5-man Technical Team that provided Customer Support to an organization of 50+ Mission-Critical Operators and Users.
- Troubleshot countless communication problems along with a number of Navigational and Radar problems. Personally identified, troubleshot, and corrected a major Dry Air Leakage Fault for the Satellite Communication Suite involving the OE-82 Antennas which turned into a Fleet-Wide issue.

Avionics Shop Leading Petty Officer/Training Department Leading Petty Officer/Specialized Test Equipment Calibration Program Manager VC-6 Fleet Composite Squadron Norfolk, VA 2003 - 2006

- Maintained and managed the Avionics Shop in support of the Norfolk and Dam Neck Installations for Fleet Operational Readiness.
- My role as the Leading Petty Officer was to troubleshoot, correct, and maintain all essential Avionics gear for all Drone Simulation Testing and Operational Support to the Fleet.
- Trained and developed a 15-person Technical Team comprised of Aviation Electronic Technicians and Electronic Technicians. My Supervisory and Technical job was to oversee all integrated, organizational, and Micro-Miniature repair that dealt with all Avionics, Cryptological, and Circuit Card Assembly. This provided customer support to all east coast shipboard platforms requiring Missile/Drone Exercise Qualification and training.
- The Avionics Shop I supervised received a 100% no discrepancy evaluation during our Aviation/NAMP AIRWING Certification Inspection.
- I also was the Training department leading petty officer responsible for the maintaining and upkeep of over 90 training jackets. My roles were the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly implementation of a sound and structured training plan that included all electrical, electronic, personal and OSHA-driven safety training topics. Along with all Navy and aviation-command requirements and qualifications. The diligent organizing, planning and well-structured training environment reflected in another 100% no discrepancy evaluation during the Aviation/NAMP AIRWING certification inspection.

- I also was the Specialized Test Equipment Calibration Program Manager responsible for over 380 mission-essential test equipment. My role consisted of the maintaining, planning and scheduling of all specialized test equipment for all training and mission essential evolutions. Upon my role as being hand-picked by the Squadron

- Commander for this job the program was in disarray and was on the verge of having the squadron shutdown due to not being able to make operational commitments. I took the program and restructured and revitalized it into a 93% operational readiness and reliability in so receiving command recognition by the Squadron Commander.

Leading Petty Officer for Combat Systems Electronics Communications division USS Mahan (DDG-72) Norfolk, VA 2001 – 2003

- Lead, maintained and managed communications electronic repair division responsible for the entire AEGIS communications suite with a 100% operability and reduced downtime allowing the ship to meet schedule and mission readiness.
- Trained and developed a 10-person technical team that provided customer support to an organization of 75+ mission-critical operators and users.
- Qualified as Combat Systems Officer of the Watch on an AEGIs platform responsible for the entire Aegis Combat systems organizational tactical support.

Leading Petty Officer for Combat Systems Electronics division USS Elrod (FFG-55) Norfolk, VA 1997 – 2001

- Lead, maintained and managed communications electronic repair division responsible for the entire AEGIS communications suite with a 100% operability and reduced downtime allowing the ship to meet schedule and mission readiness.
- Trained and developed a 10-person technical team that provided customer support to an organization of 50+ mission-critical operators and users.
- Qualified as Combat Systems Officer of the Watch responsible for the entire Combat systems organizational tactical support.
- Single-handedly installed NAVMACS upgrade to improve message traffic speed and reliability for operational commitments and readiness.

Communications Technician/Installer for Naval Communications Master Station Norfolk, Va 1994 – 1997

- Troubleshot, corrected, maintained and performed maintenance on various telecommunications and communication equipment/circuits/systems, fleet message-traffic, networks and terminals for all east coast fleet support.
- Troubleshot, corrected and maintained all east coast platform’s POTS lines, video-conferencing cable installations/monitoring and crypto equipment.
- Part of installation team of FCC-100(V) 7 for fleet SHF implementation.
- Part of ANCC system installation team for all UHF and SHF communications switchboard refurbishment.

Communications Technician for Operations Department Electronics Communications division USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) Norfolk, VA 1990 – 1994

- Troubleshot, corrected, maintained and performed maintenance on HF, UHF and SHF communication equipment/circuits/systems.
- Received Flag Letters of Commendation from Fleet Admirals for communications suite with 100% operability and reduced downtime during Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Provide Comfort.
- One of a two shipboard team that assisted installers in the initial installation, implementation and set-up of the initial SHF system.
