Objective:
I am interested in working with registration, cataloging, curating, etc. for a collection, library, museum, archives, etc.


Experience:
I have worked in libraries, archives, and museums, both in paid and volunteer positions.


Education:
I recently completed a Certificate program at the University of Washington in Seattle in Museum Studies. I previously earned a Bachelors in Public Affairs with an area minor in Humanities (English, History, Philosophy, Theology) and graduated Summa cum Laude. I interned at three institutions: the Nordic Heritage Museum, the James Washington House, and the Seattle Catholic Archdiocesan Archives. I was engaged in hands-on contact with artifacts. I designed a new database, entered registration and catalog information about artifacts, including periodicals, art objects, and historical items. I became proficient in using the Past Perfect database. I helped write condition reports for paintings, helped break down exhibits and pack the items into shipping containers, helped instal and clean exhibits. I have worked with indexes and created cross-references. I have researched books and other collectibles on the internet and sold old books online. I identified and priced antiques for resale and for private collection owners. I enjoy quiet, detailed work, but I also have considerable experience in public relations, fund-raising and volunteer coordination.


Affiliations:
I have been a member of the Washington Museum Association and the National Museum Association.


Skills:
I have a generalist's understanding of all phases of museum operation, but have a special feel for artifact identification and cataloging. I also excel at label writing. I enjoyed all aspects of collections management.
