As a leader of the Network Services Team I was responsible for infrastructure planning, network monitoring, router/switch configuration, cable plant integrity, firmware and software upgrades, NT server administration, installation, and troubleshooting. I also provisioned T1/frame relay WAN connections. For network monitoring and reporting I worked with HPUX Openview, Network Node Manager, Top Tools, NetIQ, Visio, and Network Associates Distributed Sniffer System. Our communications environment was completely TCP/IP and hardware included Compaq/Tandem and IBM mainframes, Cisco routers and PIX firewalls, Hewlett Packard switches and printers, HP UX “K” and “N” class UNIX servers, HP Microsoft NT Netservers, Nortel VPN devices, Foundry Big Iron and Server Iron switches, and Definity audix/PBX systems. We had approximately 12,500 nodes on our network. I was the project manager for the rollout of a company wide wireless network from Symbol Technologies.

Responsible for pre sales support, hardware repair, planning and installation, formulating preventative maintenance schedules, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, inventory control, technical support and maintenance activity records. Set up a help desk for worldwide support. Installed, configured, and administrated Novell 3.x & 4.x servers, Windows NT 4.0 servers, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 workstations, UNISYS mainframes, Cisco routers, and all Microsoft office products including Access, Excel, and Word. Customers included United States Air Force (worldwide), Department of Defense, NASA, TV Guide, Citibank, Merrill Lynch, Lever Brothers and St. Joseph’s Health Care. Varilease Corporation purchased the company.

Computer Maintenance Corp.(Atlanta,GA) (10/1982 – 12/1995)
Special Operations Director (1993-1995) Responsible for design, testing, and development of software and value added
hardware products. Proposed and evaluated ideas for new products. Sold our proprietary products to Honeywell, Finn Air, Western Union, Raytheon, NASA, America West Airlines, Iberian Airlines, and Jet Propulsion Lab. Installed, administered, and maintained Novell 3.x and 4.x client/server networks. Specialized in project management. The company was purchased by Unisys.
Eastern Operations Director (1990-1993) Responsible for maintenance quality at all CMC accounts in the eastern half of the United States. Duties included setting up new customers, implementing company policies and procedures, interfacing with customers concerning their particular maintenance/hardware requirements, and auditing sites to insure quality maintenance while maximizing profit margin. Increased profit margins from an average of 25% to 56%. Supervised a staff of 44 field engineers. Was directly responsible for hardware maintenance/installation at SITA, America West Airlines, US Airways, Chicago Public Schools, East Carolina University, Loral Defense Systems, Boeing, State of Georgia, and NASA to name a few. CMC was awarded Rockwell’s “Small Business of the Year” award in 1993 for work excellence at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston
in support of the computer systems that drive the Space Shuttle flight simulators.
Director of Technical Services (1987-1990) responsible for nationwide technical support at CMC on Unisys mainframes and
attached networks and subsystems. Subsystem vendors included Novell, STK, Dataproducts, Centennial, Control Data, Amperif,
Unisys, Century Data Systems, and IBM. Duties included implementation of troubleshooting procedures, development and test of diagnostic software, creation of in house training and troubleshooting support, and help desk design and implementation.
Field Service Supervisor (1984-1987) responsible for all computer maintenance at Piedmont Airlines (USAir) on large-scale Sperry (UNISYS) mainframe and subsystems. Supervised a staff of six Field Engineers and interfaced with customer concerning all maintenance matters as well as pre-installation/planning. Also assisted with maintenance at all other CMC sites in the Southeast. Opened a PC service and retail store for CMC which concentrated on small business solutions.
Field Service Engineer (1982-1984) Assigned to Piedmont Airlines site as site leader. Performed remedial and emergency
maintenance on all Sperry mainframes and inventory control and maintenance log-tracing systems. Installed and maintained
diagnostics.
