Objective:
My company recently closed their offices here in New Jersey and relocated all of their functions to Chicago. I opted not to transfer to Illinois and instead accepted a severance package to stay here.

I have 20 years of experience in the Supply Chain field including production planning, inventory control, forecasting/demand planning, plant production management, MRP creation, co-packer management, S&OP, product supply and systems integration.

I am interested in securing a job in either a corporate or plant environment. My first preference for job location would be the NJ / NYC area with secondary preferences for the Philadelphia area, Maryland, Virginia or North Carolina.


Experience:

WM. WRIGLEY JR. COMPANY

Manager of Demand Planning, 2005-2007 Parsippany, New Jersey

Forecasted 800+ skus totaling $2 billion in annual sales. Worked with Marketing, Finance, Customer Marketing, Sales and IS. Converted Kraft forecast models to Wrigley format and established operating budget expectations with management as a result of Wrigley’s buyout of the Confections division from Kraft Foods. Directed the retail sales forecasting teams within Americas demand planning group. Responsible for sku level forecasting for the acquired Kraft businesses and core Wrigley brands within same retail sales teams utilizing SAP, BW and Logility forecasting tools.
• Served as team lead for initial transition of forecasting functions from Kraft to Wrigley. This included SAP setups and verification of 3 years of sales history and 18 months of future forecasts.
• Executed Sales and Operating Plan process for the new acquired division coordinating Sales, Production Planning, Project Management, Finance and Senior Management groups.
• Established new Seasonal Demand Forecasting process to drive increased communication between customers and Supply Chain functions. This increased Customer Service accuracy by 5%.


KRAFT FOODS INC. 2002-2005

National Forecast Manager, 2004-2005 East Hanover, New Jersey

Led a confection forecasting group that planned 1,800 skus among such brands as Life Savers, Creme Savers, Altoids, Trolli, Marshmallows, Fruit Snacks, Milkbone, Gummi Savers and Handi-Snacks. Collaborated with Senior Management, Marketing, Finance and Sales on volume targets, current market trends, promotional activity and other factors that drove the business.
• Managed a forecasting group that achieved 5% improvement in accuracy versus prior year.
• Personally managed and improved Milkbone and Handi Snacks brands forecast accuracy 8% versus prior year, including five item launches.



Senior Manager Supply Chain, 2003-2004 East Hanover, New Jersey

Served as senior manager of Marshmallow production and deployment group. Monitored production and inventory levels to financial requirements as well as lead point of communication to upper management during fourth quarter business push. Also contributed to several large scale project management initiatives such as the Life Savers production transfer to Canada, Altoids Gum three stage capacity stepping model and repacker transfer, as well as forecast/planning analysis for Planters transition to plastic cans.
• Coordinated the move of Life Savers cooking, mint processing, tableting and packaging equipment from Michigan to Canadian facility, keeping finished good inventory build below 45 days of supply and maintaining 98% service level.
• Working with production facilities in Italy, Germany and Great Britain, optimized the Altoids Gum Work in Process transfer steps by reviewing capacity, transportation issues and available inventories. This reduced WIP inventory by $100,000 and improved overall efficiency at all 3 plants.
• Kraft Foods General Managers Award, 2004

Supply Chain Manager, 2002-2003 East Hanover, New Jersey

Managed the Creme Savers Supply Chain network for Kraft logistics group. This included production, transportation (international and US) and purchasing. Completed Nabisco/Kraft systems integration, shifting production, warehousing, and customer service functions to Kraft. Directed co-packer operation integration and training.
• Reduced finished good inventories by $3,600,000 over one year.
• Working with International shipping carriers and 3rd party production facilities in Argentina, developed new Plant to Port to Warehouse strategy involving locations in U.S. and Argentina.


NABISCO FOODS 1986-2002

Category Logistics Manager, 1998-2002 Parsippany, New Jersey

Managed Life Savers products produced by outside contract manufacturing facilities, including materials management, packaging materials purchasing up to $1,000,000, finished goods production scheduling, and logistics deployment of finished goods to Nabisco distribution centers and customers. Oversaw key product supply link to finance, sales, marketing and operations groups.
• Executed implementation of single repacking facility for Life Savers division, combining three outside companies.
• Managed systems implementation project for multisourced Creme Savers product lines, tying facilities inside and outside company to scheduling, MRP and purchasing systems.








Production Manager, 1995-1998 CANDY PRODUCTION FACILITY Brooklyn, New York

Managed daily and long-term production planning at the chewy candy production facility. Directed floor supervisors on day-to-day operations to best utilize manufacturing output and staff. Developed long-term planning processes for facility to meet financial budget requirements, capacity planning, overtime reduction, staffing, and future marketing needs. Communicated scheduling issues to corporate headquarters and implemented schedule changes for logistics and marketing requirements.
• Achieved 98% customer service level for product shipments while improving plant level schedule attainment from 40% to 98%.
• Served on supply chain team responsible for installation and implementation of new MACPAC MRP system.
• Brought Brooklyn facility up-to-date with current Nabisco standards. Developed new bill of material structures, material relationships, and production schedule generations.
• Implemented cycle counting of raw and packaging materials to reconcile inventories reducing Saturday overtime.
• Negotiated repacking opportunities with Corporate for the facility allowing for improved staffing, reduced repacking costs and increased “in-house” repacking for the company.

Production Scheduler, 1989-1995 Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Scheduled weekly production for 70 LifeSavers, Chocolate and Gum products at three facilities through use of national DRP requirements, logistics inventories, and sales forecasts. Scheduled the following brands: Baby Ruth, Butterfinger, Breath Savers, Carefree Gum, Fruit Stripe Gum, Sugar Bubble Yum, Sugarless Bubble Yum, Pearson Nips, Life Savers, Life Savers Holes, and Life Savers Lollipops. Prepared packaging bill of materials for production facilities. Acted as primary liaison between production facilities and corporate office on daily production issues, future projects, and material requirements.
• Served on team that developed and implemented master production scheduling system (MPSS) and corporate operating production system (COPS) for use in corporate/plant production scheduling.
• Created multifunction stakeholder meetings to review current and upcoming projects, inventory and production capacity issues and their impact on the business plan.

Report Systems Analyst, 1988-1989 Parsippany, New Jersey

Prepared graphical analysis of sales, production and capacity for operations group. Served as member of team to implement mainframe forecasting system (FDS) that tied sales forecasting to DRP.
