Experience: Textron Fastening Systems, Troy, MI April, 2004 to present Vice President, Supply Chain Led the global supply chain for a $2B business. Responsible for total procurement and logistics. Staff consisted of 140 employees located in various manufacturing plants and logistics centers worldwide. Operations were located in North America and Mexico (17), South America (3), Europe (10) and Asia (5). Responsible for over $870M in purchases, in addition to logistic services worldwide. Directed the source selection of complex supplier designs, leading a team of design, manufacturing, and quality engineers, in addition to buying personnel. Achieved year over year direct savings of over $81 million in 5 years and $260 million over 8 years, indirect savings of over $100 million and global receipts of over $90 million annually. Commodities included: digital electronic engine controls, fuel controls, fuel nozzles, heat exchangers, bearings, gear boxes, valves, pumps, starters, ignition systems, sensing devices, and cable assemblies. Selected to lead the integration of GE Rail’s Controls and Bearing commodities. Responsible for reorganization and consolidation of two procurement organizations in support of the merger of GE Rail and GE Aircraft Engines into GE Transpiration.

Concurrent role Led the Sourcing Department transition to a new master planning and warehousing system (ORACLE APS). Responsible for coordination and execution of business systems testing, inbound and outbound software analysis and organizational restructuring to accommodate the e-Supply Chain redesign of legacy planning systems. The e-planning tool consolidated five legacy planning systems into one demand stream for the business, optimizing inventory levels and warehouse management. Selected to lead the GE Aircraft Engines / Honeywell Aerospace Sourcing integration of over $2 billion in control systems and avionics procurements. Facilitated the reorganization of the Honeywell Global Sourcing group into process centers of excellence for aerospace controls and avionics.
Six Sigma Blackbelt, GE Engine Services, Materials & Sourcing July 1997 to May 1999 Extensively trained in statistical tools to eliminate defects in manufacturing and business environments. Developed a Sourcing Six-Sigma deployment strategy for 18 worldwide aircraft engine overhaul sites. Assisted in the integration of a $1 billion acquisition, which included 40 new facilities. Trained and mentored 28 supplier Blackbelts and internal Greenbelts. Implemented process improvements yielding over $2.4 million in direct savings and over $250,000 in cost avoidance. Received the Global Sourcing Supplier Management Award for contributions to the business.
Manager, Composite Process Center July 1995 to July 1997 Managed a cross-functional team of eleven direct and four indirect reports. Responsible for procurement, value engineering, quality engineering and administration of contracts, totaling $40 million of yearly input. Commodities ranged from silicon rubber and injection molded plastics, to complex composite structures such as engine fan blades. Supply base included 50 suppliers and over 2,500 part numbers. Achieved $9 million in savings over a three-year period.
