Project Manager – As Project Manager I was responsible for all aspects of management of the US Air Force’s Combat Information Transport Systems (CITS) projects. These large scale network systems projects typically lasted twenty four months or more where my responsibilities included such activities as; Conducting presentations for project kickoff, documentation review, and closure of the project. Scheduled, conducted, and documented the project team meetings and activities. Scheduled and managed all activities for the Site Survey and Design and Implementation phases of the project. Coordinating with all parties including; internal resources, Air Force Project Management team, Air force Base personnel, and contractors to ensure all work was completed on schedule and in budget. Order procurement of all material and equipment used for the implementation of the project. Maintained and updated the project schedule using Microsoft Project. I am highly skilled in the used of Microsoft Office applications including; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
When not assigned to a specific project I provided support and training for Avaya Project Managers and technicians on all aspects of project management and CITS implementation. I have a strong technical background which allows me to interface well with all aspects of these large scale projects including Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), and Network Installation and Cutover.
Intergraph Corporation, Huntsville Alabama 1982 - 1999
Project Manager, Product Support Development – Worked as part of the project team assigned to the development of Intergraph Workstation and Servers. Developed support services for Intergraph manufactured products in a project management environment influencing design changes to improve support and lower cost of maintenance. Provided training for Services personnel to insure the smooth transition of new products into the work force.
Senior Technical Consultant - Advanced training and experience in network systems installation, configuration and troubleshooting. Installed and configured routers, switches, hubs, NIC’s and network media. Technologies supported include; TCP/IP, SNMP, RIP, OSPF, Frame Relay, T1/FT1, NAT, CSU/DSU, Dial Backup, PPP, modems, and transceivers. Troubleshot installations with service provider and Telco, and monitored network performance for customers under contract to Intergraph’s Network Monitoring Center. Electronics Technician - two years in the test and repair of analog and digital circuits to the component level. Wrote test scripts for fault isolation, repaired circuit boards, and trained personnel on system equipment.
Technician/Supervisor - Comprehensive technical training including analog and digital theory as well as very broad and diverse experience in the service, support and instruction of the Navy’s Information Technology and Operations Control systems. Two years on the Naval War College Warfare Analysis and Research System staff.
