This project is for the migration of existing customer information from DB2 database into SAP. Involved in the design, development on data extraction from DB2 database and provide flat files to the SAP interface.
Responsibilities:
Gathered the information on the data to be extracted from DB2 base
Study the BACHMAN diagrams and identify the database records impacted
Write technical specifications, design and development of data extraction programs
A total of more than 200 K customers information to be migrated over to the new system
Data cleansing carried out before the migration exercise to identify any error records in the existing mainframe system, such that the data loaded into the new system with correct information. Generate reports for such records and provide it to users to follow up
Prepared run chart and operator instructions to the operators to schedule the jobs with dependencies and follow up actions in case of job failure
Perform coding, unit test, system test and intersystem test thoroughly
Minimize the run time by designing the jobs to be run concurrently, since migration has to be completed within the specified migration window

This project provides round the clock production support of legacy systems, re-engineering and application enhancements to the following MIS application system viz., Inventory management and statistical reports.
Responsibilities:
Enhancements of the existing batch and online programs according to the clients new requirements
Review and lead team members and implement the code changes
Testing of enhanced programs in development test base
Prepared unit test plans, system test plan
Carried out unit testing, system testing and intersystem testing thoroughly and compare with the expected results
Also submitting jobs through requester panel for data conversion. Studying the programs and preparation of technical specs

Singapore telecom carried out migration of existing customers information from mainframe system called CSI into open system platform called Pegasus. I was involved in housekeeping of customer information in mainframe system upon successful migration over to the new system.
Responsibilities:
Involved in entire project development life cycle
Gathered the information to be migrated from mainframe system over to the new system and performed impact analysis
Prepared meeting minutes and follow up with issues raised during the meetings
A total of 2 million customers information has been migrated over to open systems
Extraction of selected mainframe customers information for every migration phase
Designed the mainframe applications for the entire project and discuss with teams impacted
Since every migration phase has to be completed within a specific window, jobs designed to run concurrently with all dependencies
Check points introduced to re-start the jobs from the previous committed check point in the event of deadlock or program failure
Prepared run chart, operation instructions to schedule the jobs, prepared QMS documents
Data cleansing carried out before the migration exercise to identify any error records in the existing mainframe system, such that the data loaded into the new system with correct information. Get the help from users to delete error records or do a data patching if necessary
