Experience: Environmental Coordinator, Newmont Mining Corporation: Carlin, Nevada (1/00 – Present) Primary duties consist of keeping air permit spreadsheets updated on a daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis, ensure biannual meteoric water mobility tests are completed for the waste rock disposal facilities, conducting weekly and monthly inspections of work areas, ensuring Environmental policies, procedures, and permit requirements pertaining to surface Mining Operations, Truck Shops, Gas Shops, Underground operations, waste rock disposal facilities, and landfills are followed. Work with State and federal authorities to ensure compliance with regulations. Conduct annual environmental awareness training for employees and supervisors. Support on hydrocarbon remediation issues/projects. Duties were recently expanded to include hazardous waste management at all Northeastern Nevada facilities.
Senior Engineering Technician, Newmont Gold Company: Carlin, Nevada (1/98 – 1/00) Primary duties consist of pit high wall stability monitoring, keeping all spreadsheets updated and quarterly reporting for such data, piezometer monitoring, inclinometer reading, and surveying dam settlement monuments. Primarily used survey, monitoring equipment, and Excel.
Barrick Liaison Group, Newmont Gold Company: Carlin, Nevada (4/97 – 1/98) Primary responsibility: Ore controlling Newmont Gold Company’s ore in the Barrick/Post pit and tracking its transport to the Newmont stockpiles. Primarily used proprietary mine planning software and spreadsheets.
