Although I did not attain a management degree, I have completed over thirty hours of college level buisiness classes; which include: accounting, economics, and management. I have over ten years of work experience in aquatics working as a head lifeguard, pool manager, and parasail boat driver. I enjoy teaching both adults and children new aquatic skills. I am dedicated to hard work and accomplishing assigned tasks, and enjoy interacting with the public. I have earned a BA degree in psychology from Augusta State University. May 1999-Sept 2006 US ARMY, Ft. Gordon, Ga. Senior Lifeguard/Instructor Responsible for insuring the safety and welfare of pool and lakefront patrons, teaching swimming lessons, water survival and community water safety classes. Each spring I was responsible for setting up and prepairing the outdoor pool and lakefront swim areas for the summer season, and maintaining there appearance through weekly yard maintenance. I also supervised junior lifeguards, sold pool passes, operated a computer, and did daily accounting of all money. I was also responsible for all organizational and managerial decisions when the manager was unavailable or not available.
May 1998-Sept.1998 Richmond County Recreation Department, Augusta, Ga. Asst. Pool Manager Responsible for supervising pool staff, schedualling staff work hours, maintaining proper cl/ph values, daily accounting, insuring a safe and clean aquatic environment for patrons.
March 1986-Sept 1988 US ARMY, Ft. Gordon,Ga. Recreation Aide/Lifeguard Responsible for the safety and welfare of pool patrons, assisting in swimming lessons and lifeguard training, conduct water survival classes. Assisting in Ft. Gordon events such as ten K races, swimming meets, and lifeguarding for the Ft. Gordon Triathalon. I performed customer service on a daily basis, sold pool passes, opened or closed the pool daily, and performed all daily accounting duties.
May 1985-Sept. 1985 Richmond County Recreation Department, Augusta, Ga. Pool Manager Responsible for supervising and schedualling staff, daily accounting, safe and clean pool environment, operate pool pump and maintain proper ph/cl levels. I was also responsible for all customer relations issues and conflict resolution between patrons.
May 1984-Sept 1984 US ARMY, Leah, Ga. Lifeguard/Parasail Boat Driver Insure a safe aquatic environment in a lakefront setting, perform water rescues from beach and boats, maintain boat and parasail equipment in proper working condition. I was also responsible all aspects involved in the renting of aquatic equipment, and customer relations.
Sept. 1980-May 1981 US ARMY, Nurnberg, GE. Materials Handler/Warehouse Manager Responsible for proper operation of a medical warehouse in Nurnberg Germany. My daily activities included: recieving and storing items, shipping various sized items, correct documentation of all items recieved and shipped between the warehouse and Nurnberg American Hospital, answering telephone calls, operating a fork lift, operating a two and a half ton truck to deliver or pick up items, and customer service.
