A highly successful teacher, coach, and administrator. As an educator, continually improved communication and administrative skills going well beyond what was expected coaching both football and basketball, teaching English and Latin, and obtaining a commercial driver’s license to drive a bus. 1998 Production and Distribution Supervisor, Rubbermaid Cleaning Products-Cleveland, TN

Success followed as a production and distribution supervisor with Rubbermaid Cleaning Products in Cleveland. As a supervisor, I was responsible for the manufacturing, quality, and timeliness of the product we make as well as the attendance, safety, and performance of the associates. Spending four years as a production supervisor, I have managed
anywhere from 20 to 65 people. As a distribution supervisor, I handled logistic needs for the site. In both positions, many improvements were realized. From the production aspect, I increased productivity, cut costs, improved safety, heightened attendance, and lowered turnover through communication and coaching techniques. As a distribution
supervisor, we were able to set new records for on time shipments 99.9%, for line fill 99.9%, and lowered the average days to ship an order by more than a day to 2.5. This was accomplished through organization techniques, development of a same day ship program, and extensive communication with both the customer service and the production departments. I also spent five months as a fill in Human Resources Administrator where responsibilities included interviewing, hiring, and training new associates. Through this employment, I have vast knowledge of the product, the processes, the procedures, and problems associated with a manufacturing and distribution site. Many other opportunities were also obtained through computer
training in Excel, Word Perfect and other popular software programs. I have also received training in dealing with and avoiding unions, eighteen college hours in Spanish, ISO standards and internal auditing, principles of operations management,
implementing and improving safety programs, decreasing turnover, and dealing with personnel problems in a manufacturing environment. In addition, I have a wealth of experience in lean manufacturing, leading Kaizan teams and training employees in the implementation of these events, and participation in many safety programs including STOP and ergonomic improvement teams.
