Objective:
I am seeking the opportunity to teach on-line classes in Leadership to Nursing Students. I have 27 years of nursing experience, the last six of which have been in management. I think it is important that we ensure that the next generation of nurses and nursing leaders are well-prepared to face the challenges that will face them in terms of providing health-care in the future. This will require faculty who are committed not only to the profession but also to the development of these future leaders. I believe I possess that commitment. I see myself as a lifelong learner and want to encourage others to stretch themselves and step out of their comfort zone to do those things that will be required to make sure patients and their families have not just adequate but quality health care.

Nurse Manager Ambulatory Care Unit
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee (Present employment)
• I am currently responsible for supervising about seventy-five staff members.
• I do performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.
• I am involved with my director in the development of the budget each fiscal year.
• It is my primary responsibility to support the staff as they provide care to our patients and to ensure good stewardship of our resources.
• I have taught classes on chemotherapy administration for the hospital as well as the Oncology Nursing Society.
• I am in the midst of a Leadership Fellowship with the ONS working on implementing a formal mentoring program directed specifically at future leaders.
• I am involved with the Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nurses and am currently in the process of reviewing abstracts to be presented at their annual convention.
• I am studying to to take the ANCC Nurse Administrator Exam.
