Experience: Weaver Popcorn Company Corporate Quality Assurance Manager/Coordinator July 2003 to March 2007
Managed two facilities, one in Van Buren Indiana, and the second internationally in Rojas, Argentina. Provided technical support to Bag forming, Roll stock, Tin Forming, Microwave Integrated Cells, Caramel, Confectionary and Cheese further processed value added pre-popped Corn, Bulk Processing, Oil Room (State of the Art in the Industry), Sanitation Teams, and warehouse departments to improve quality, productivity, and eliminate waste; coordinated implementation of company quality assurance policies and provided training for Food Safety and Quality Assurance Systems (ISO 90001, GMP, and HACCP) program procedures. Quality Assurance /Technical Service Manager March 1998-May 2001 Responsible for organizing and supervising the Quality Control Department and Ingredient Lab Technician. Research development of new products. Setting up Quality Control Standards and implementing kosher requirements in Hard candy production. Worked extensively with production toward chocolate coating replacement projects and adjusting parameters on the chocolate drop line. Experienced in the differing facets of Confection industry (production of starch jellies, marshmallow products, gummies, and pectin jellies etc.). Regulation compliance including- FDA, OSHA, EPA. Quality Assurance Supervisor September 1993-February 1998 Implemented Statistical Process Control Program (SPC, as well as SSOP, HACCP) and was involved in re-engineering and right sizing of Quality Control Department at the Forest Plant. Supervised six Quality Assurance technicians. Worked with Human Resource Manager on recruitment of Hispanics from the Rio Grande Valley. Helped develop Hispanic orientation video for incoming new employees. Additional responsibilities include computer network coordinator.
National Cottonseed Products Association Assistant Director Research and Education June 1991-1993 Responsible for research concerning products and disseminated results so that information was effectively exchanged and put to use. Acted as the interface of the cottonseed oil mill crushing industry with EPA and OSHA officials concerning federal and state regulations and safety. Attended professional meetings and trade show both domestically and internationally as part of promotion programs.
