Home Study 2003 – 2006 Even though I had chosen not to work from 10/2003 until 11/2006, I kept my knowledge current. Before returning to the job market, I decided to refresh my knowledge, so I spent five months doing extensive studying of all of the relevant Mike Murach manuals (COBOL, DB2/SQL, CICS, VSAM, and JCL). I definitely feel that it got me back up to speed on those subjects and made me ready to return to the job market.
Primerica Financial Services; Duluth, Georgia Software Engineer – APRS Team 2000-2003 · Member of the Agent Production Reporting System team responsible for reporting amounts sold by every agent for every line of business (Life Insurance, Securities, Home Mortgage Insurance, Long Term Care, etc.) · Created and maintained agent totals for every line of business in the Business Center Summary DB2 tables. This included monthly, year-to-date, rolling three, six, nine-month, and yearly totals. (COBOL/DB2/SQL) · International expansion of Business Center Summary DB2 tables to UK and Spain. (COBOL/DB2/SQL) · Updated and maintained agent state-specific license information for every line of business in U.S. and Canada. Both systems were mainframe COBOL II/CICS/VSAM applications. ACAPS is SunTrust’s automated credit application processing system. BureauLink is the credit bureau report retrieval system that interfaces with ACAPS. The ACAPS/BureauLink installation was a “Top Ten” priority project for SunTrust. · Project Manager/Lead programmer for the BureauLink 3.2 release project. SunTrust was the first AMS client to upgrade two BureauLink releases simultaneously while interfacing with the ACAPS 5.0 release.
