Discuss research data based on value analysis to focus groups. Review data and benefits of capital and laboratory service material with top hospital staff for value analysis. Use this value analysis to exceed industry standards in regards to implementing strategies and processes.

Installed a system that insured adequate surgical supply inventories, minimizing shortage-caused crises. Discovered that critical surgical supply inventories were low and not sufficient to support the surgery schedules of the center’s four hospitals. In crisis mode, worked with procurement personnel detailing requirements. Obtained needed supplies, insuring timely scheduling of all surgical procedures.

Utilized both business and clinical expertise as the liaison between administration, physicians, staff, and vendors to maximize patient care, control costs, and decrease error. Value analysis performed on capital and laboratory equipment (heart-lung machines, blood gas analyzers). Compared and contrasted the manner in which patient needs would be best met all while reducing supply costs. Purchase supplies based upon outright purchases, disposable purchases, maximizing value and cost during contract negotiation.

Conducted training for staff in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, surgical and nursing staff, on the use of technological life-saving devices used in their departments. Gave lectures and held Q&A sessions. Built a flexible staff that was well prepared and educated on the devices. Acting educational liaison between the hospital staff and medical company representatives.

Drove compliance with JCAHO requirements, avoiding costly fines. Saved Detroit Medical Center from fines and kept department in compliance with JCAHO requirements. Many surgical products are disposable and carry expiration dates. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) would fine an organization if expired items were found stored or if used in surgery. Regularly conducted inventory reviews to insure that disposables had not expired. Avoided potential fines and ethical concerns.

Business Owner/Insurance. Recognizing the significance of ongoing education and my pursuit to achieve my passion for my career goals, earned my Michigan licensure for health and life insurance. Knowledge and experience in healthcare in all spectrums, including the insurance aspect, is creating a fuller knowledge base in healthcare. The desire and ambition to, on my own, be prepared and self-educated, adding value to the organization of my employment.
