Designed and implemented automated operations for several major companies. Disaster Recovery design expertise utilizing fully automated backup/recovery techniques including Automatic Tape Libraries. AS400/MIMIX Systems Administrator:
Responsible for supporting, and maintaining hardware and operating systems for all AS400 (iSeries) computers company-wide. Providing advice, training and technical support for various projects. In addition, works closely with the Technical IT team members in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development. Support and setup users in PeopleSoft J.D. Edwards World Enterprise.
Maintains and administers all AS400 company-wide, also maintains formal procedures for systems security and database integrity, performance monitoring, archive and backup, initial configuration and system changes, and any related job control.
Documents and conducts analyses to participate in corporate direction for AS400’s and applications.
Responsible for maintaining the AS400 systems by upgrading to the latest version of OS and replacing out dated hardware and applying all the appropriate patches, and PTF’s. Support and troubleshoot all AS 400 peripherals and equipment (i.e. printers, tape drives, terminals client access consoles, etc.) and primary backup to the computer operator. Using ROBOT Schedule/Save for backup and restore operations.
Provide support to Network Administrator with LAN and WAN related projects and day-to-day issues.
Work closely with our IT staff to clearly define issues and/or requirements that require modifications to any of our AS400 system hardware or OS needs. Using MIMIX for High Availability and Data Replication. Participate in off hour’s support of IT Staff and others on system related issues. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
