Process Engineer II (on contract) – Frito-Lay Pepsico Group
• Supervise draftsmen on P&ID, GA’s and Process Flow Diagrams with AutoCAD 2007 for line expansions for Pepsico Frito-Lay Plants including “Sunchips” and Baked Potato Chips in Perry, GA and Frankfort, IN. Review and develop equipment specification & lists (MS Access), scope of work, and process documentation.

Feb’06 to Sep’06 AMEC ENGINEERING Greenville, SC
Process Engineer (on contract)
• Build P&ID, GA’s and Process Flow Diagrams with AutoCAD 2006 for a 1.5 million gal/yr Ethanol Demonstration Plant (Biorefinery). Develop equipment specification and process documentation.
• Support design, procurement & expediting for an $8.8 million line expansion at Cytec Carbon Fibers. Led bid studies for cooling towers, engines, heat exchangers, pumps and process equipment.

Project Engineer II – (Corporate) R&D Technical Center
• Led the process development work on area funded projects for the 9 Northeast Plants in the Cheese & Yogurt, Beverages & Desserts, and Confectionary Sectors. Specific responsibilities include documenting the Executive Summary (scope, justification, estimate), Capital Appropriation Request, and FEL (front-end loading) forms.
• Researched an on-line heating process for Yogurt fill cups to keep product warm enough as per Quality specs and prevent product wastage in case of Filler downtime. Improved OEE for Filling and Packaging equipment.
• Support project budgeting by inputting cashflow, priority level, capital approval date, scope, status data into the SQL Database to support funding and approval timeline for new & future projects.
• Led a cost reduction to retrofit an idle boiler to be used as primary for saturated steam supply at lower pressure to meet winter production requirements. Researched cost of refractory & convection tubes, removal of superheater, set up of refractory, and modifications to make-up & feedwater pumping system.
• Documented the packing film for yogurt cups at the North Lawrence, NY facility to reduce downtime and improve sealing onto cups for proper labeling.
• Six months as an Area Buyer for material handling; worked with vendors, supported US and Canada Plants using ARIBA, approved purchase requisitions, developed lease vs buy analysis, purchase orders, bid reviews.
• Researched a new RO (reverse osmosis) pilot test for Capri-Sun and Kool-Aid waste sludge that reduced disposal cost. Investigated membranes & maintenance costs to concentrate scrap juice to 25% solids.
• Worked on installing Labellaire printing equipment for Now-n-Later confectionary facility in Brooklyn, NY, and worked with various printing vendors to run demo work on-site.
