Job Description:
Food and Beverage Company is looking for a Logistics and Transportation Clerk / Coordinator to join the team.
Position Summary:
The Logistics/Transportation Coordinator will work directly with carriers to obtain quotes, appointments and tracking of all outbound freight at lowest cost, best transit time available. Identify potential transportation opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
-Monitor loads to ensure merchandise is loaded according to priority and time limits
-Assure accurate tracking of shipment and timely delivery of products to customers
-Maintain dock calendar for shipping and receiving
-Ensure all areas are in compliance with company procedures
-Prepare various statistics and reports
-Perform work without significant direction. Assignments often self-initiated.
Job Requirements:
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
-Strong leadership, administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills
-Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret information
-Requires rapid and thorough independent decision making, creative problem solving, good judgment and negotiating skills
-PC skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
