Job Description:
Village Solicitor aka Law Director
As per the ORC 705.11
The Village Solicitor shall act as the legal advisor to and attorney for all officers of the municipal corporation in matters relating to their official duties. S/He shall prepare all contracts, bonds, and other instruments in writing in which the municipal corporation is concerned, and shall endorse on each his /her approval of the form and the correctness thereof. No contract with the municipal corporation shall take affect until the approval of the solicitor is endorsed thereon. And shall perform such other duties as required.

Job Requirements:
·Minimum two years Municipal experience in an unchartered Village.
·Licensed and bonded in the State of Ohio
·Admitted to bar, in state of Ohio
·Willing to accept contractual one year term
·Able to attend our scheduled Tuesday evening council meetings, at minimum
o1st Tuesday and 3rd Tuesday
·HB 9 training – responsible for overview of our public records
·Some experience or ACCESS to expertise in employment and contract law.
·Willing to communicate electronically
·Willing to undergo a background check
·Willing to take BWC Drug Free Workplace training
·Full disclosure re: license suspensions
·Ethics training – have taken or willing to take within a specified time of contract.
·Understanding that the Solicitor works for all elected officials who represent the Village, as per the ORC
